Hello everyone! While I'm not new to Disney, I am new to DISboards, so Hi!:wave2:

When we go to Florida this year, my friend's 9 year old daughter is coming with us - but she doesn't know it yet! We plan on doing the reveal just a few days before we go. We would like a really cool way of revealing to her that her dream to come with us has come true, so my question is - if you were 9 years old, how would you like to be surprised? What would a 'Million Dreams' Cast Member do?

What about getting her a Disney Care package together. You can put the things that she will need or like into a box ie an autograph book and pen; stickers; if she wears crocs the jibbiz; a princess crown; coloring books or other books if she likes to read; or a disposable camera. Anything that she would like could go in there. Then wrap it up with Disney paper and let her open it.

Or you could make her an invitation. That way she could scrapbook it with her pics from the trip. Good luck!:wizard:

Just an idea, but my cousin surprised her kids ages 8 and 10 by picking them up from school a little early the day they were leaving.

They had all kinds of cute things written on the windows of their surburban like "Disneybound", "off to see the Mouse", etc. And she had disney t-shirts sitting in the seat when they got in the car.

Of course they were driving and they left straight from their school, but you could still do something similar just for the surprise factor.

I surprised Dh with a trip once- I wrapped a helium balloon in a box (so when it opened it, it floated out with a rolled up note saying "pack your bags".) You could use a Mickey, etc balloon...

Another thought- after the super bowl, etc you always see ads of "Person X, you just won the super bowl, what are you going to do now?"'I'm going to Disneyworld!" If she's familiar with that ad, maybe you could spoof that somehow? (and when she replies "I'm going to DW", you can say "yes you are!"?)

Hello across the pond from Manchester, New Hampshire! I like the invitation idea too. You could :

* make up an invitation as if from Mickey and mail it/present to her, or

* pipe the invitation or have it screenprinted on a cake and have it delivered to your table at a restaurant or serve it when her family visits you.

* You could also get a blank craft puzzle and write the invitation on that and give it to her to put together. Another family here on the Dis put the announcement in a fortune cookie (LOVE that story).

* Or you could arrange a scavenger hunt where she finds a series of clues...if you are going after Easter, you could give her clues or the puzzle pieces in various plastic Easter eggs.

Give her a huge package of passport forms to fill out, liberally sprinkled w/glitter and confetti and wait for her to ask why!!! Just Kidding!

What a nice surprise for her...let us know how you break the great news!
