I have booked a surprise long weekend trip for DH in December. We will leave early Thursday morning and come back Sunday afternoon. I have been trying like heck to think of a great way to "give" him this surprise. Unfourtunately, I can't wait until the last minute because he has to request the 2 days off from work. His Birthday is a month before we leave. I kind of figured that might be the time to tell him? Does anyone have any ideas what I could do? Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

I am planning a surprise trip for my DH and I in Jan. I told him already, I would like him to take a week of in Jan. to spend the time with me, because the kids will be in school all day. I don't plan on telling him, untill as late as possible. It's been hard, b/c I want to tell him SOOOOO badly!

I actually thought about coming up with another reason for asking him to take the days off, but I just know that if I do, he will know where we are REALLY going! ;)
I know what you mean about dying to tell him!! :)

My DH actually asked for a trip for his 40th birthday in December. We were headed to New Orleans (it's so horrible...send $$ to Red Cross, everyone!) but have managed to get everything cancelled. So I've told him to trust me, I'll plan the next destination. So how do I get the special luggage tags on the bags? I think I'm going to have to check the bags myself and send him to get a newspaper or something.
Can you call your DH's boss and ask for the days off for him? Claim you are going Christmas shopping with wine :earboy2: at the end of the day as a reward?

I've got a surprise trip for my dh to Disneyland coming up in October for our anniversary. I bought some 50th anniversary items from DL and I'm going to put them in a basket along with our plane tickets and DL reservations. Oh and a DL guide book! At this point I'm hoping to hold out until the Monday before we leave, but I don't know if I'm going to make it.

It would actually be pretty easy to call the woman in his office that is in charge of that stuff........Im just not sure how well that would go over with him......

I just did this for my mom! Fortunately for me, I know my mom's boss and worked with him to find a time that worked most convenient for him. He was really excited to help me plan in this surprise!

I just surprised my two kids with a WDW trip a week ago and I swear keeping the surprise got so hard at the end I almost was phsyically ill LOL. I wanted to shout we're going to WDW TOMORROW and dance around the night before we left but I gagged instead.
I used a word play to surprise the kids, but they are kids not grown ups, I can clear their schedules without asking anyone else. The clues in the world play spelled out "how would you like to go to the happiest place on Earth today" and it floored them (literally, my DD7 spread herself flat out on the floor as if she had fainted when the idea sunk in). Maybe for a grown up who needs to be in on the plan a bit, a card with phrase that will tell him WDW a few days before the trip.
Have a blast!!!!
