Hi!

OK- I bought a package- 4 night, POP std. room, 4 day base tickets for 2 adults, 1 child $1368.14.

I have been debating whether or not to buy 10 day no expiration tix instead, but now I'm not sure if it would make sense, being that I have to keep 1 day of base tix to keep my package price. So here's the math:

Right now, I'm paying $639 for the 4 day base. If I dropped it to 1 day, it would be $220. Then, if I bought the 10 day no exp.,I would be paying $418.95 x 2 (837.80) + 378.95 = 1216.85.

Would that be stupid to do? I am ruining my brain with planning this vacation!

Thanks,
Lori

why would you have to buy the ten day no expiry *and* the one day base? unless you plan to buy the ten day elsewhere (i.e. disney store, undercovertourist, etc), buying it should cover your "Ticket Requirement" for a package (for this trip, obviously not for a future trip)... what you have to do w/the math is figure out when you would use the other six days of the ten day ticket and whether you would need a one day base ticket then...

also, why are you "hooked" on a package? if you are not purchasing the dining plan, it may behoove you to purchase the individual components, esp if you are going during a "room only discount" period...

sorry if i added more calculations to your confusion... but i hope it helps :)

Thank you for responding!
I do have the dining plan as well. And I did plan on buying the tickets at undercover tourist, I got an email today and the price on the 10 day no exp. just went down.

BTW, I'm on LI, too. Brentwood.

Everyone in the room must be on the same package, so you can't just buy 1 day base ticket. You'd need one for everyone. It seems with even only buying one you'd save no money this trip, but maybe some next trip only if you didn't get the dining plan then.

Ticket brokers discounts aren't that heavy and are basically only worth it if you can get no other discount through disney (even the smallest covers this saving) and you don't want dining.

In December 2006 (maybe it changed since then) my mom and I were AP holders who wanted to stay at the Poly under a special Package Discount they were offering. So in order to take part in the Package Discount we had to buy admission tickets. So we bought 1 day base tickets. By buying 1 day base tickets we were able to get Dining for all 6 nights we were staying there, and we saved the 1 day passes to use when we go this year and get AP's again.

So As long as they haven't changed the rules since 2006 you should be able to buy a 1 day pass and then have your dining for the # of nights your booked for. But Everyone in the room will have to have 1 day passes and have dining. You can't only have 1 person with dining and 2 w/o etc.

If your planning a 2nd trip and want the 10 day tickets to cover that trip as well, then a PP is right in saying you won't save as much this trip but will on the next trip.

But remember on your next trip you won't be able to do the Dining package if you have tickets already, you will be locked into doing a room only reservation or booking more tickets through Disney.

Is it worth this much confusion??? I think personally I would buy the package you have now, and then if your going a 2nd time and need tickets try for a discount through Disney with codes, or special packages etc.

Thank you so much!

You are right, it is not worth the confusion. I am stressing WAY to much on how much I am spending on this vacation. I appreciate everyone's input on this. I am going to keep everything the way it is and have a great time!

Thanks again everyone, this board is terrific!
