We are considering staying at the DLH for our next trip. We have never stayed there before and thought that we would surprise the kids. According to the people on trip advisor, there is a lot of noise from downtown disney at night that you can hear from the rooms making it difficult to sleep. Just thought that I would ask the expers on the DIS--anyone experience this or know which rooms to avoid? Thanks! :)

We have stayed in the building closest to DTD and we never heard a thing. Have fun!

*I thought maybe that I should add that we were there on weeknights in the winter time...I have no idea if a summer time Saturday night would make it louder- more people out maybe?

yes, we did when we faced down town disney. but it was a busier time and yeah, we heard the music and crowd noises until things died down.

Well I don't know about the DLH but we stayed in a DTD view room at the GCH and once we closed our doors it was quiet.

It really depends on where you are in the hotel. We were on the 2nd floor of the Magic Tower and we had a partial pool/DTD view. We could hear more from the pool than DTD, but we found that if we turned the a/c on medium, it almost completely drowned the noise out. The noise wasn't really a problem for us anyway because we usually left the park about an hour before closing, and most DTD shops/restaurants close around the same time as DL. Even when we came back to the hotel for our mid-day breaks, the noise wasn't enough to keep us from napping though. If you stay in the Wonder Tower, you probably won't be able to hear any noise at all.

We heard some noise when we were in a room with a DTD view, but it wasn't enough to be bothersome at all. Actually, it was kind of fun to hear the sounds while we were getting ready for bed & such with little ones. Once the door was closed and the a/c on, we didn't hear anything.

I just switched my birthday reservation from HoJo to DLH because they're doing the 35% discount for Disney Visa Card holders. I'm so excited! I don't care about the noise too much because I'm used to living in crowded areas... I'll have the AC on too because it's in the middle of July. Enjoy your trip!

What's this about a discount for Visa holders? Where do you find out pricing for that Bridgette?

Thanks Bridgette!!!! It worked! :)

Have a great time Karebear (which happens to be one of my nicknames too LOL)
