Can you have visitors?

We are staying onsite at ASMU but my family is staying in a villa offsite. If they wanted to come "visit" at our room, is that allowed? Are they going to make a big deal if they go swimming with us too?

Just thought I'd ask instead of assume they can't! Thanks for any info concerning visiting resorts :thumbsup2

They should be able to visit you at the resort, but the pools are limited to the guests of that resort. Not the guests of the guests. Sorry.

Yes, your family can come for a visit. They will have to stop at the gate and tell them the exact name on your reservation then they will be let in. They can also eat in the food court with you and swim in the pool with you.

Have a great trip!!!

My parents visited us several times during our last stay. We were told by CM that yes they could swim with us, etc. Infact they got in the hot tub, ate at the resort, and road the boat to DTD with us. My parents just told the guard at the gate the name the reservation was under, happened to be DH, and our room number, he gave them a visitor card for their window and let them through.

i dont understand how they can be allowed to swim there...b/c then i can just be staying at BC and run into a stranger in the parks and they want to swima t SAB and i just say they are my "guests" so they can stay there...interesitng

No one can swim at SAB without a room key...even DVC members. They don't check room keys anywhere else I have ever been. Actually a few years ago, a friend and I stayed off site and we pool hopped. Went to a few different pools including SAB. They didn't used to check back then. :dancer:

I don't think visitors will have too much trouble getting permission to swim at the value resort pools. If the pools start to get crowded, then yes, they may be asked to get out. It's really only a big issue at the resorts that are walking distance to a park...Polynesian, GF, BW, YC/BC...those seem to be the pools that attract 'hoppers'....I almost wish they issued wristbands at those pools, not just YC/BC. I actually overhead someone, at the pool at BW, say to her companion..."This isn't that bad...it beats trying to get past the wristband thing over at BC..maybe we should stay here some day." Ah, hello?

If you ask the lifeguard at the pool if it's okay for your guests to use the pool, I imagine they will give you an okay. But, please, ask first. That's just being courteous.

Stormalong Bay is a completely separate animal from any other resort pool. That one is harder to get into than Fort Knox.

But for the All Stars, swimming together won't be a problem. And having guests at your resort isn't a problem either. It helps if they have your room number to give to the gate guard. And at the All Star, they can drive back and park near your room as well. Once they get through security which will be quick and painless.
