Will the waiters treat you badly if you go to sci-fi just for milkshakes and dessert?

Not at all, we went there for milk shakes and fries and we had no problems.

:) Well for our very first trip to Disney back in 1991 we did just that and our waiter was obviously TOTALLY ANNOYED by our dessert only choice. Maybe now a days...that has changed. Good Luck.

Would it be fine just to get fries instead of a main at lunch time?

Ill probably get dessert too, DH will get a main but im not that into burgers, i just really fancied the atmosphere of Sci-Fi:confused3

I just want to take my kids for the atmosphere, but meal times do not fit into our schedule. Thanks for the responses!

You will need an ADR since you will be at a table. ;)

Happy planning everyone!

I have ADR for just before 2 at Sci Fi for the same thing. I'm thinking maybe our party of 4 (3A and 1K) will, at most, share one complete meal (with DD7 getting her own if she's hungry) and then maybe getting an extra appie and dessert. Then we are eating a full dinner that night at 50's at about 8 (this was a hard ADR to get-took about a week of calling to get it-at first all I could get was HBD for 8).

Does anyone know if Sci Fi still uses soft-serve ice cream for their sundaes (hot fudge, etc.) The last time my DM and I ate there (1998) we were very disappointed in our sundaes since be the time they were served the ice cream had almost completely melted-more like a milk shake than a sundae. I wonder if they've switched to hand scooped? We actually returned our sundaes to the kitchen that trip (and all we were having was dessert! ) TIA

do CM frown on sharing meals? My DD and are heading to WDW on Wed. I have had some stomach surgery since I was there last and cannot eat very much at a time. When we go out in our home town, we always share a meal.
do any of you ever share a meal?popcorn::
thanks

My DM and I (and sometimes DD7) have shared many a meal both on, and off, DDP. We've never had a problem, even while on DDP. For us, it's hard to eat appetizer, entree, AND dessert. We find that if we share (either I share with DM, or I share with DD7) then we have room for dessert. When we don't share, then we always end up taking our desserts back to the room. Unfortunately that leaves out anything with ice cream:confused3 .

We always make sure to tip additional if we share (unless the service is poor) just as we do at home when we split.

Go ahead and share, like I said, we've never had a problem, just let your server know, and if you are on DDP, make sure the credits are taken off properly before you sign for it. (We only had a problem with this twice-used DDP 3 times so far-and both times it was removed quite easily)

Happy Dining!
