Like at WDW....say I buy stuff in the park will they send the stuff to my room? We are staying at GCH.

Your purchases will be sent to the Bell Desk and you can pick them up after 7am the next morning. We love this policy; saves carrying bags around all day. We usually just purchase as we go and pick it up in the morning on our last day before we leave.

Quick question! How are your purchases packaged for delivery? Do they just use the standard Disney plastic bags that are open and loose (where smaller items could possibly fall out) or are they taped up somehow?

And can someone please explain again exactly how the procedure works? If I remember reading correctly, you can't just go to every store and have your purchases delivered...you have to take them to certain stores that are drop off points?

Thanks in advance! :)

Your purchases are in the standard bags that the stores use but the tops are stapled together so nothing can fall out. I have had several small items shipped to the hotels before and I have had nothing fallen out because it is stapled shut, so much so that I had to rip the bag open to get at my purchases. :lmao:

As far as the stores go, I am sure there is a list out there somewhere although I can't seem find it at the moment, but it is the main stores in each land that will ship to the hotels. Star Trader in Tomorrowland, the huge connected store in Adventureland (sorry can't remember the name), the connected store in Frontierland (part of which used to be the old Pendleton shop, again sorry I can't remember the name), all of the stores on Main Street, etc. As far as DCA goes, I have only used the service at Off the Page but they shipped it to the hotels without any problem. I am sure the bigger stores in each land (not the little stands) will have no problem with that service.

When you are purchasing your items, ask the CM helping you, if they will send it to the hotels. They will give you a form to fill out with your hotel and room number along with your personal information (address, phone number) and they will give you one of the copies (its a 3 copy page) with the receipt stapled to it, you present it to the Bell Desk after 7am the next morning, and the CMs will retrieve your purchases.

HTH!

Also, if you are not staying at a disney hotel, you can check in your purchases for free at the news stand and a place near star trader to be picked up later in the day before ~12.

Is tipping expected from the bell service when retrieving those packages at the hotel?
I'm always confused by tipping in the USA because it's much different than in Italy and I hate to do it wrong.

zavandor, I have never tipped the CMs at the Bell Desk when retrieving my purchases. I don't think its expected there so I think you will be fine. And without trying to get off-topic or risk turning this thread into a tipping debate, in my experience, tipping has been for the valet (if you valet park your car; not sure if you will have a rental or not), if the CMs at the Bell Desk take your luggage up to the room for you (we do a $1 per bag both when they take the bags and when they deliver them to the room - often they are different CMs helping) and then at sit-down restaurants (15-18% of your total bill is currently considered acceptable). YMMV of course but I hope this helps.

I would not really suggest you use this service the day before check-out. We ended up getting our bagged items in a rush with our luggage and loaded them in the car. When we got home about midnight, the item I was most excited about was missing.

We called the Paradise Pier about midnight inquiring about it. Eventually they found the item and shipped it at their expense. So they took care of it, but they weren't particularly friendly about it.

I believe all the retail stores in the parks will send the package to your Disneyland hotel. It is one of the many advantages to staying with Disney...:cool1:

I only know about will call sending your purchases to the front. If they send it to your hotel that would be great! :thumbsup2
