. . . you don't have an existing reservation?

Back story:: We'd like to try our first summer WDW trip in 2012. Currently debating between last week of June vs July 4 week. We own at AKV, but would perhaps like to stay at BCV or BLT. If we really don't want to stay at our home resort, I'm okay waiting until the 7 month mark to call and make any ressies. When I DO call at 7 months, I'd rather get right on the BVC wait list before checking availability at BLT. (Hey - sometimes those precious 10 minutes can make a difference, right?) Can I do this? Have them immediately check BCV, and when they tell me it's full ask to be wait listed? Or do I have to make a ressie first?

Thanks!

Agree with Tigger1. You do not need to have an existing reservation to get on a waitlist. You just need to have points available to book what you waitlisted for should the waitlist come through (either an existing reservation you can cancel or uncommitted points).

So you can do exactly what you propose - wait until your 7 month window opens, call & try to make a reservation. If there is no availability, you can get right on the waitlist.

Good luck. Hope he waitlist isn't necessary.
