I hate to more than double my spend for a mono hotel just because my husband is worried about the stress of getting our double stroller on the bus. (We were told to bring one of our own AND rent one. We have 1yr, 3yr and 4yr kids) :earsgirl:

if they fold up, yes, they'll be able to fit in the bus aisle. We've seen plenty of people with double strollers on the bus. Just remember to leave yourself plenty of time to fold and prep the stroller. That way when the bus comes, you're all set to get on.

Yes, you just have to fold it up before getting on the bus, and lug it up the stairs. Now staying at aa monorail hotel won't stop that practice if you have a side by side, as they don't fit on the monorails unfolded, except in the handicapped cars. You still have to fold them to get on the monorail.

WDW policy is that you have to fold ALL strollers on buses and monorails.

You probably already know this, but just in case, let me point out that even if you did stay at a monorail resort, you'd still need to use buses to get to Animal Kingdom and MGM, as well as Downtown Disney or the water parks.

Not on the monorails! Just the buses and trams.

It will be a task on some of the buses. Some seating is different and the aisles are wider and easier to get on with your stroller. The ones that are narrow make it a bit of a struggle. I didn't use a double but had two singles. I have to say, I was glad I didn't have our double. Your toughest time will be at night when the buses are crowded. It's doable but it will not be fun. I think it's not going to be so stressful to resort to doubling your spending, but if you can swing it, a room at CR with those ages of kids would probably be wonderful.

If this is the policy, then I've only seen it enforced on the buses. We've ridden the boats and monorails dozens of times with our double stroller open with kids in them. And I have NEVER seen anyone fold their stroller on the monorail. :confused3 Are you sure that's the policy? I would think if it is, then the CM's would have said something to us, especially boarding the monorails when the parks are closing and every inch is valued.

We just got back about a month ago with a double stroller and had no problems at all. The only time we ever had to fold it was on the buses and it was totally do-able.

Also, if you stay at a place like BC/YC or BW the boats there are super convenient because you won't need to fold to get on those to MGM or Epcot.

Yep, did it last trip. With kids that age though, I would consider a wing room at the CR or a room at WL, you would all fit in a regular room.

That must be a new policy. When we went in December we brought our double (side-by-side) and the CMs at the monorail directed us to the right entrance for the accessible monorail door. We never had to fold up our stroller -- except for putting it in the rental car to go to AK!

You were lucky there were no wheelchairs to load into that car. If there were, you would have either waited for the next monorail or folded your stroller. The accessible car is accessible for wheelchairs, not strollers.

We have always brought our side by side Peg Perego Aria Twin & it fits on the monorail in the handicap cars. Also we brought it on the boats to the WL & never had to unfold it--just rolled it right on. :)

I guess we were lucky. We saw lots of people at the CR with double strollers that week and no one seemed to have trouble getting their opened double stroller on the monorail, even with folks in wheelchairs on the same car. Perhaps it was the time of year we went (less crowded).

The "folding the stroller for the monorail" policy has been around for many years. I think as long as it's not busy, they don't enforce it. (if there is room, why inconvenience people).
I have seen them asking people to fold their strollers before getting on boats and monorails when it is busy though.
