Had a total knee replacement and will trying DL on crutches. Do you think I will be able to get a DAS pass? And if so can you get it before you enter at the outside customer service area or do you need to go to City Hall?

I think for crutches they will tell you to get a wheelchair or ECV. DAS is done at City Hall. You can try seeing if they will do it for you.

With crutches you'll be directed to the alternate entrance where it's used. If they're giving return times at that entrance you'll get one where. You shouldn't need a rent a wheelchair or ECV to use those entrances, but sitting in a wheelchair is a lot less miserable than having the ends of crutches jammed into you, elbows locks and people bumping the tips when trying to get around you.

As others mentioned, you will not get a DAS (which is only available at City Hall or Chamber of Commerce in DCA). They will suggest you rent a wheelchair or scooter...which would probably be a lot better for you than crutches. The WC or ECV will be your DAS only for rides that have a queue that is not ADA compliant. If the queue can accommodate a WC or ECV (like all queues in DCA can), you will have to access the ride by the usual queue.

DAS is issued only at City Hall in DL or Chamber of Commerce in DCA. "not for mobility issues" is most definitely something I've heard from them before (we also had another issue though). At the bottom I've linked the current fact sheet and it does NOT state that so maybe you have a shot? With DAS you can still end up in 15+ min fastpass lines depending on crowds and it is not valid for character lines or shows.

I would seriously consider renting an ECV, there are outside services as well as ones you can rent at the park on first come first serve basis. An ECV was the difference between "great trip" and "worst trip ever" our last family trip. He was very resistant to using an ECV but halfway through the trip had no choice... and then he LOVED it. I highly recommend you look into it! Also maybe check out the disABILITIES board here on the DIS, sometimes you'll find someone there whose already been through it (crutches at DL) and can give you advise. Best of luck, and I hope you have a wonderful trip! https://wdpromedia.disney.go.com/me.../dlr-disability-access-service_2014-12-09.pdf

Thanks for the info. I am really hesitant about renting an ECV because of the cost and did WDW with a WC and my kids complained the entire time about pushing me. Might not have a choice though.

You're worth the cost. Crutches are NOT fun. Go with an offsite rental company. Deckert's is one that is hugely popular here. No website to speak of, but just call them.

my kids complained the entire time about pushing me.

I can understand! Pushing an empty wheelchair isn't easy for hours, let alone with an adult in it! Don't do that to them, and don't do crutches to yourself. Get the scooter.

Look at apple scooter (make sure you are on the anaheim site). Much cheaper than DL prices. I can't imagine going to DL in crutches! That would be beyond miserable. Feel better soon! I'I'm in a walking cast right now and just got off crutches so it's all fresh to me.

Go with Deckert's if you decide to use a scooter. Apple Scooters was horrible when I used them!!!

Ended up using Decket's and was very pleased with the scooter. It was 185 for 8 days which was a good deal I thought. Will use them next time I go to DL.

I just rented from Apple. While they were nice I had to replace my scooter three times because itwould die after a couple of hours (cost me about 2 1/2 hours of dealing with it inside the park) the last one I had would last about 6 hours but I would have to stop and recharge for a couple of hours. (The batteries don't hold a charge when they get older)
