I thought that you only got the pack and play with staying in Disney resorts, but I read some posts on disboards where people talked about requesting and getting a full sized crib from mousekeeping. Does anyone know how this works and if it costs extra?

To the best of my knowledge, only some of the resorts have these. There is no extra charge, but youre unlikely to get one as i was told by Mousekeeping that the resorts that do have them only have at most 2 or 3 for the whole resort.Which means that unless youre very lucky, your not going to get it.And FWIW, i saw one at AKL once- and they are not true full size cribs- they are the travel kind - better than a pack and play, but if your child is older, it may be too small.

I'd suggest renting one if thats an important issue for you.Ive heard great things about this site:

The only resort I've had a crib in was the Grand Floridian. I don't remember for sure, but I think it was a full size crib. I think that is (or at least 5 years ago) standard.

I don't know about any of the other resorts, my kids always did fine in the pack and play so it was never an issue for us.

I had one on my last trip. It was full sized and metal. I would suggest bringing your own sheets. BTW I was at BWV and they offered me the crib instead of a pack in play. Also, it was free.

There are a limited number at the resorts so they won't guarantee you one but they do look like full size from what we have seen in the hallways. We generally like to use the pack and plays because the kids like to climb out of the cribs but not the pack and plays.

We were also at BWV when we got a full sized crib. It was metal and definitely full size. I was the one who posted the other thread that's floating around...I just wondered if we had beginner's luck in getting it, since that was our one and only trip and we were successful in getting it. It sounds like others have had a difficult time getting their crib request filled. Sounds like they can be rented it if is a must for you.
