Can you drop the dining plan from your package?

We're considering the dining plan for February trip, but I'm afraid to add it and then not get the ADR's we want. Can we drop it from the package? Without getting character meals and such, it's not worth it for us to have it.

Then why not wait until you have made your ADRs before adding the DDP? Just do a package with room and tickets to start with.

Oh, thanks Minnie mum. I didn't know you could do that. I thought you had to chose your dining option right at booking. Good to know.

If you book through a third party site such as Expedia, you must add the dining plan when you book. If you book through Disney or a TA, you can purchase the dining plan anytime up to your check-in date.

On sites such as expedia you can book rooms, but not packages (dining plan).

Even when booking with Disney or an authorized TA you can only book/add the dining plan up to 3 days before arrival. If booking through the DVC office it can be added up to 2 days before arrival.

Must have changed. We did it two years ago...resort, tickets, and dining. Had to call to make the reservation, though...couldn't do it online.
