We are driving to and having a character breakfast at Chef Mickey at 10am. Can we then just ride the monorail over to MK or do we have to drive back to the MK parking lot?

you can catch the mono if you have a disney resort key!!

From what I've read, you will receive a 3 hour parking pass at the Contemporary. It is up to you to move the car. You could park at MK, take the monorail to the Contemporary and then back so you are only driving and parking once.

You only get a 2 hour pass for parking in the hotel parking lots. So yes you'll have to move your car to MK parking after breakfast or just park in the MK parking and catch the monorail to the Cont.

Not sure about how long you are allowed to park at the hotels, why don't you park at MK then monorail or walk to Contemporary and then do the same thing back to MK when you're done eating? You don't need a resort key to ride the monorails, anyone can ride. Good luck!

I would park at the MK, take the monorail to the CR, then walk back to the MK after breakfast.
