Can you do this in the same day?

I know you can't visit 2 theme parks in one day without having a park hopper. Can you visit an extra-such as a water park or Disney Quest- and a theme park in one day without having a park hopper ticket?

Yes. The plus options are separate from the main theme park admissions. For example if you one day visited MK, TL and DQ you would use 1 main park day and 2 plus options that day off your ticket.
