My 4 year old son asked me this last night. :rotfl:

I think it is so funny what kids say sometimes, what kind of funny phrases do your kids say?

Very cute! :teeth:
My son used to call Toys R us "Toys For Us".

Our family classic is "patercater" - you know, that thing that turns into a butterfly?LOL!!!!!!!

The other day at Epcot DD11 asked if we were going to ride Nordstrom at Norway next. DD16 and I teased her for the rest of the day about it - she is starting to get into the groove of shopping at the mall and obviously had that on her mind!!!

A while back, our 6 year old asked for some "Papa John's Cheese" to sprinkle on his spaghetti. It now has a new name in our house. pirate:

When my oldest DS was little he called his forhead his "fort head". We still tease him about it. We also have a couple of family jokes about "Helen Handbasket" and when we will be going to visit her.

Our air conditioner maker DS feel like he is "frozen salad" :teeth:

Oh, forgot "Can you do me a flavor?" to which I always replied, "Sure, vanilla, chocolate or strawberry?"

When my brother was little he called Star Wars - Star Moores

Salami - Amommy

and on the radio they used to have this little song to identify the radio station, it went in a sing-song '97.9 music, variety... in tampa, bay!' or something like that..
anyway, my brother always mumbled through the beginning, and then proclaimed, 'Tampa, Space!'

Not a phase, but TRULY funny.

In the car with the girls passing endless fields of corn. Emily is torturing Abby by constantly saying "corn" or "more corn", over and over again.

So Abby starts singing Hi Ho, Hi Ho....... over and over again to get on Emily's nerves.

So Emily asks Abby to stop singing.

Abby says " No way, I LOVE my "ho's"!!!!! :rotfl2:

When my brother was about 3 my mom told him he couldn't go to the store with her because he didn't behave last time.

He begged, "please let me go, I'll be REAL have!"

The other night DD5 was explaining why dad's couldn't have babies. She said it was because they didn't have an Elvis (she meant uterus).

Denae

When DS was 3, we were on a boat. DS looked in to the water and saw a jelly fish. He says (quite loudly) look mom a jelly doughnut.

Not a phrase but me and DH got a huge laugh out of this.

He is Hispanic and I'm European.

One day out of the blue, DS 6, comes up to us and says "Daddy is too dark and Mommy is too light, I guess I'M the one who's perfect!" :rotfl:

My ds isn't really talking yet but some of the things he does crack me up. My dh and I are all about positive renforcement so whenever the baby does something "good"(like trying to take a step or sitting still through a diaper change etc) we say "good job!" and clap. Well dh has a job where he gets paid per delivery. So the other day he came home late and said he had a great day and had x# of runs. I said "good job". Well the baby got really excited and started clapping :rotfl: ! It was so funny.

The other day I told him he was handsom and he gave me this posed smile!

When Eric was about 4, we were camping and it was rainy day so my husband and I were trying to think of something we could do. I mentioned that there was a flea market going on down the road.

A couple hours later, Eric asked when we were going to the tick store.

But I have more verbal faux pas from my immigrant parents.

"It's another fact" = "As a matter of fact" (my mom)

"World Serious" = "World Series" (my dad)

"It must have been mental thellepity" = "It must have been mental telepathy" (mom again)

And you can't correct them, because they get so darned hurt about it.

I've found that as my kids heard new words they often tried to associate them with words they knew. My daughter loves the "Beautiful Duck ShowTell" at WDW, and at Beaches and Cream (or McDonalds) she loves to have "Hangerburgers" for lunch or dinner.

The best is our DD2 has been learning to say a prayer before dinner. She says it "In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Skeer-It"

Between my two DD's I have quite a few. But my favorite one was when my oldest DD was little and was on a Kraft macaroni and cheese kick. We were out of it and I had her sitting in the shopping cart at the store. As we walked down the isle I walked past the mac/cheese. DD started screaming, "Crap mom! Crap you promised me you'd buy me more crap!!" Meaning Kraft of course. I wanted to dig a hole and climb in as people stared at me, and some came by to see what she was pointing at.

My daughter still insists the name of the girl is Allison Wonderland :teeth:

My DS has always said, "I can hear my heart beep!"

(I can't bring myself to correct him, it's too cute!)

And instead of asking "carry me?" He would say "care of me?" Of course I will care of you!! :)

My son used to call chocolate "choc lick." I never corrected him either. He finally figured out the pronunciation when he was probably 6 or 7.
