Can you do HS 1/2 day morning with EMH?

Good Morning,

So, I keep shifting things for our upcoming August visit and want your opinion on only spending a half day at HS. Just to note, it will be my husband, myself, and two kids (8 & almost 5). On our first full day, HS has early EMH so we were going to RD at EMH and try to get in as much as possible before heading to MK. The other days are spent at AK early EMH/Epcot/HS Star Wars Dessert Party; AK/Epcot; MK; MK (last day and leaving same day). Obviously, with our children, we will want to capitalize on time spent at MK, but I would like to know if you would suggest the possibility of completing HS in that first early morning half day or perhaps drop one of those AK 1/2 days. With my children, I am assuming (we are surprising them so they are not choosing rides) they will want to do TOT, the Toy Story ride, the Muppets, and possibly Frozen Sing Along. I used to love the Great Movie Ride, but have not been in 10+ years, so, if we cannot fit it, so be it. The roller coaster is also a possibility. Can it be done?

Just knowing my children and their preferences, we will want to do TOT, the Toy Story ride, the Muppets, possibly the Frozen sing-a-long, probably RNR roller coaster, and maybe the Great Movie Ride (but that is for me...I doubt anyone else will love it they way I do). All 4 of us get motion sick, so no star tours. The first three listed attractions and probably RNR roller coaster are likely the "must-do" rides.

It's certainly doable - based on your list. You don't mention, but I'm assuming you are saving your FP for MK when you go in the afternoon.

You will most likely have to go to the 11:30 or 12:30 Frozen sing-a-long. Which one will depend on what you want to accomplish and any waits that may be building - I would make sure you get everything on your list done BEFORE the Frozen show - with the exception of the Muppet Show, this is basically walk-in before lunch except during the most crowded days.

Lines build fastest on Toy Story and RnR. My plan would be:
Aim to get there 30 minutes before EMH ropedrop, so you are towards the front of the crowd waiting.
Hightail it to Toy Story - ignore the wait time posted, it is very inflated on that ride especially in the first 45 minutes the park is open. You can probably go on it a second time even.
Go back to the front of the park, get there at least 15 minutes before the official 'public' opening time - if RnR has become a 'must-do', that's first, then Tower of Terror - may want to do it twice if waits haven't built.
Great Movie Ride
Frozen Sing-a-Long (just might make the 10:30 show)
If you have to wait for the 11:30 Frozen show - I'd consider the Little Mermaid show or some character meet & greets
Muppet 3D

If you're not already a member, it's worth joining Touring Plans to help with questions like this. You can put in all of the attractions you want to do in a day, what fast passes you have, how fast your group walks, what breaks/meals you have planned, etc and it will optimize a touring plan based on predicted wait, walk, and ride times. You could enter everything you want to do at HS and see how long it predicts it will take to do it. It's been a HUGE help in my planning for our May trip.
