Unless we can move our BOG ressie to later.. we have from 9am until about 11am to do AK (BOG @12, would we even make it??). Is it possible to do Animal Kingdom in 2 hours? Planning on getting there before it opens so we can run to mount everest haha! No fast passes for this day, as we're going to MK for the remainder of the day.

Depends what all you want to include when you "do" Animal Kingdom. If you're going to include Nemo and Lion King, there's no way. Everest, Kali, and the Safari; probably. I bet you could fit in four or five rides in 4 hours. But did you mean 2 hours? Because that's what your schedule says.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. For our family, part of the magic of AK is that it is not the typical park focused heavily on rides. We do the rides (especially EE, Safari, and KRR in good weather), but it wouldn't be AK to us without wandering the trails, seeing the animals, checking out the Tree. If it was only about the rides, or if we didn't have time to wander and slow down, I wouldn't bother with AK. (Full disclosure - MK is the park we are likeliest to skip, especially on a short trip.)

just panning on dinosaur, safari, kali & everest! totally meant two hours haha.

That's 2 hours, not 4. You might get in 3-4 rides, but that's it. Hardly seems worthwhile. We usually take 1.5-2 days for AK.

Yeah, I was wondering where the OP was getting 4 from. Last time I checked, 11-9=2. ;)

No, I wouldn't even try, but I love AK, and enjoy spending the entire day there. I would not like to go to any park for just two hours. I don't like feeling that rushed, I would never enjoy myself. Plus, I have been to BOG, and I don't feel like it would be worth giving up time in AK, to eat there again, but, that's just me.

If all you're planning on doing at AK are the rides, I wouldn't bother. As the PP said, AK is more about leisurely strolling along the trails, looking at animals, and soaking up the ambiance. The rides are fun, but not the focus of the park. Dinosaur and Kilimanjaro Safari are at opposite ends of the park. The safari ride is usually pretty quick in the mornings before the animals start moving around a lot, but if one decides to stand in the road for several minutes, you could be on the ride for a long time. They do not do anything to move the animals from the road. Given your tight schedule, I'm not sure I'd take the chance on missing the BOG ADR.

Is there any way you could visit later in the afternoon when the lines are the shortest? The park tends to really clear out about 3 pm.

We visited a few weeks ago, arriving just after 3 and staying until 6. Here's what we were able to accomplish:

Dinosaur 3x
Everest 6x
Kali
Safari
Bugs Life
Both walking trails

I'd rather spend more time at AK than have BOG lunch, quite frankly. We're two adults so we skip a lot, and AK is our least favorite park, but it almost always takes us until about 12:30-1 to finish up the attractions we like - and that's after getting there at rope drop. I think Flame Tree BBQ or even Yak & Yeti QS is a better option than BOG lunch.

thank you everyone! I may just go ahead and cancel BOG lunch! we've had it before, but we're going with two newbies so I wanted them to experience it! but I feel like its not a good idea now seeing as we'll be missing a lot!

answer to Op's question..... NO. My family always wants to focus on shows and wildlife there. If you were only interested in doing rides, maybe

I would say no just because of transportation. If you are taking buses there is no way. Especially if buses are running behind as they sometimes do. You might be able to squeeze in two rides but get there well before rope drop so you are at the front of the pack of people.

Oh, especially not a good idea with newbies to rush out of there. I'm glad you're thinking of canceling. What about trying for an evening dinner at BOG? Or do you already have another ADR at MK for that night? I don't have any idea about your plans, but I know I wouldn't try and cram too much in one day with newbies, I'd let them soak things in and enjoy....not be rushed around.

You could probably do most of the rides in that time. We had limited time in this park on our last trip...only spent about 5 hours there and I definitely wished I had time to go back another day, we were just out of time. We didn't see any of the shows and didn't see a lot of the animals....

I agree with everyone else that you shouldn't rush AK. I also wanted to point something out. You said you were going to rush to EE after rope drop, but that's definitely not what I would do. I would go right to Kilimanjaro Safaris, which will pretty much be a walk-on. If you go right to Kali River Rapids from there, you'll probably have a less than 15 minute wait. The reason I would not rush to EE is because of their single-rider line. It's even better than having a Fastpass. Yes, your party will be split, but it's likely at least two of you might be on the same train at least.
