Me, my husband and 2 y/o DS will be going to WDW in 36 days (yeah!) and getting the 4 day park hopper. We were planning on taking my DS to all the kiddie rides and shows and playgrounds in all the parks for 2 days, and then we were gonna get a babysitter and my husband and I were gonna go to the parks and go on Space Mountain and Tower of Terror and all the things that our 2 y/o can't do for the other 2 days. Is it possible to get to all the kiddie things at all parks in 2 days? And vica versa, is it possible to get to all the "bigger" things at all the parks in 2 days?

I don't know about the kiddie aspect of it because I haven't done that. But it's definitely possible to do all the biggie rides in two days because we've done it for a couple of spring break trips. It requires fast passes and knowing where to go in the park once you get there. What we did last time was go to AK first since it opened earlier, did the Safari, Dinosaur and ITTBAB, went over to MGM for the rest of the day. The next day we went to Epcot first thing and rode TT and ate lunch and then left for MK for the rest of the day. (that was before Mission Space)

I think you can make a great effort at it =) Know what you want to do, have a game plan at hand, and use fast passes.

This time around, we're only do one day of Parks, and are hitting the highlights at three of the parks in one day. It can be done, just don't slow down! LOL

I haven't tried to do exactly what you're attempting, but I think you can do it =) Good luck! And have fun!

In regards to the "kiddie days". Remeber they have a harder time going commnado style. Pick out the top 3 things at each park and see them. Since you just want to hit the highlights. You could probably skip Epcot. Young kids love doing the kidcot stations, but that takes a 1/2 a day easy. If your child loves animals then they are going to love AK. I think MK is the next best. MGM will be good for Playhouse Disney. However, for some kids shows/rides are too intense for some toddlers: Indy, GMR, The Little Mermaid and Muppets. Mostly because they are loud.

Park hopping drains some of your time, come up w/ a plan that has flexibility.

You wouldn't want her to get grumpy!! I took my 4 year-old DD in July and we only had 2 days. We accomplished alot the first day, but we never left the park to rest and she ended up throwing up right before Spectromagic (yuck!!). I think I pushed her a little too hard trying to "see" everything in the small timeframe we had. By the second day she was grumpy and exhausted. Having said that, I think you could probably see most of the kid things you want to see. Make sure to account for the fact that you will probably have to ride Dumbo at least twice!! Most of all, have fun!!

I think a big part of this type of trip would be to prioritize your wishes, and then to devise a plan to accomodate those wishes. You will find you can do a lot of things with the proper planning.

Make a plan and be willing to follow it, but also be willing to deviate a bit if you see an opportunity come up.

I plan on doing it in 3 days :)

Day One- Studios till 6 then Epcot till close
Day Two- DAK till 5:30 then MK till close
Day Three- Epcot till 1:30 then MK till close

Course I have done everything that was open when I worked there in 01 and Ill only be focusing on my favorites :)

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I know that I definately want to take my DS to Playhouse disney, and he does love animals, so we will be going to animal kingdom. MK is a definate must, and Epcot I don't think has much for little kids, so we'll see. But as far as my husband and I, we defiantely love MGM, so I'll want to go on pretty much everything there. We'll see how things go, but I want my son to enjoy himself and not feel like he's forced to do anything. And I defiantley don't want him to get sick! Thanks again!!!

Did you know about the child hand off option? Your DH can ride TOT while you wait with your little one, then you switch and he waits while you ride. They give you a special place to wait and a pass so the second person will not have to wait in line. You can do this on all the rides with height restrictions.

Also www.mousesavers.com has a trip report (Disney on a $1000 budget) that details a four park two day trip. No 2 year old was involved, but it will give you a good idea about the challenges of trying this.

Last thought on this is, your child is not going to know if you only go to MGM and MK with him... He will still have a magical time :D and you will be a lot less stressed.

Yes, this is true, but I guess for my own personall enjoyment, I want my son do see so much! I want to see how he reacts to all the different fun things. My husband had to convince me to not go to Universal Studios and Islands of adventure, cause I wanted my DS to go to the Cat in the hat play area!!!!! We will do our best, though, and I will check out the link to mousesavers.com

We alway do 4 parks in 2 days. DS4 and DS6 are very timid, and leary of indoor/scary stuff, so we pretty much just ride the safe things. Mostly we take in the atmosphere, and in fact we have had a short day or two even doing 2 parks in a day. BUT... we have always gone at the slowest possible times of the year. So most of time was NOT spent standing in lines. I think that is the biggest advantage if you want to try to get as much in as possible in 2 days. And also our kids like to look at the characters, but don't want to get near them, so we don't have to wait in those lines either... Unfortunately, we don't get many cute pictures, either. My justification for taking them out of school for 2 days to go at a slow time, is that we can do the same amount of stuff in a long weekend at a slow period of the year, as others can do in a week during the busy times. Just think of all that time spent in line...Well, DH just wouldn't do it at all then.

I am sure with the plan that you have, that you can do 4 parks in 2 days, (actually you are doing it in 4 days-the days w/o DS2 will not be spent standing in line for It's a Small World, or the Flying Dumbos, I imagine. )

Ok, so I'm pretty sure we get get through with DS in 2 days, but what about the other 2 days with my DH and I? Will we be able to ride the rides in all the parks in 2 days? The main ones we want to go on is: TOT, The Rapids in AK, Space Mountain, The test track thing, JAWS, Earthquake, Spaceship Earth...... Do you think it's possible?

I looked on Mousesavers.com for the page about the 2-day vacation, and I couldn't find it. Where is it?

I would write down what your priorities are for each park. But be flexible and realize you probably can't do them all. For example:

Day 1 - MK

Character breakfast
Buzz Lightyear
Pooh
Dumbo
Toontown
Peter Pan
It's a Small World
Aladdin
Jungle Cruise
Pirates
Goofy's
Spectro and Wishes

(I assume you'll go back for a nap in the afternoon at some point)

Day 2 - MGM & AK

Playhouse Disney
Beauty and the Beast
Little Mermaid
Meet and greet Buzz and Woody, Lilo and Stitch
Lunch at Pizza Planet
(take a break)
Safari
Dinoland
It's Tough to be a Bug
Lion King

Day 3 - MGM

Tower of Terror
Rockin Roller Coaster
Millionaire
Star Tours
Indiana Jones
Fantasmic

Day 4 - Epcot & MK

Test Track
Mission Space
World showcase - Mexico, China, Germany, Italy, France, etc...
Head to MK
Space Mountain
Thunder Mountain
Splash Moutain

This is just off the top of my head. But you get the idea. ;)

JAWS and Earthquake may be a bit harder to fit in...

I would get the Unofficial Guide to WDW, it has great coversge of the rides, what they are, ratings, how long to expect to wait, and best time of day to try for shortest lines. It is such a valuable tool and with such a short trip it is well worth it, you will see more with less pain (waiting in line).

But yes, I think two adults with a good plan can do all the big rides in all four parks in two days. I wouldn't want to though. Is this your first trip? WDW is so much more than 'rides' our trips are about 35% rides and 65% other. The rides are great and all, but the heart of Disney is outside the rides. If you spend most of your time running from ride to ride you are going to miss 'it' I think. Just a thought, everyone has their Disney style.

Four adults and two 5 year olds... and nailed it!!

At MK for opening...hit Buzz, PeterPan ,Carousel, Philharmagic, Space and Splash, and Goofy's Barnstormer...grabbed snacks, and took the ferry to TTC, and since it was only 10:20am, were the only ones on the boat with Chip'n Dale, and Pluto....

off to MGM...Playhouse Disney, TOT, StarWars and Ariel...lunch on the go at Pizza Planet...

to AK...Kali, Tarzan, the boneyard, Character Trail - to see Mickey, Minnie and Goofy, Safari and Tarzan Rocks!...

then to Epcot, MS, TT, The Land, Living Seas and World Showcase until close at 9pm...

Were we tired...yep
Did we know exactly what we were going to do?...yep
Were we prepared to "sacrifice" attractions and/or parks if the crankies hit?...YEP!!
Was it very well planned...yep, no other way to FLY!!
Did we rent strollers?...yep, at AK and Epcot
Did we have a BLAST!!!
Do it again...NEVER!!......
:scratchin:

...well, yeah...ok...
Who am I kidding...???In a minute!!!

Watch for the T-Shirt "Four Parks, One World...ONE DAY!!!"...
Coming soon to a Disney Store near you!!
LOL!!

:sunny:

Jaws and Earthquake are NOT at Disney - they're at Universal. So you're talking about FIVE parks! Jaws and Earthquake are not worth buying a ticket to Universal if that's all you're doing.

I think you can easily get the WDW rides you want in two days - but I think you need to add another day or forget about Universal. The best thrill rides are at IOA instead of Universal anyway! (Although I haven't done the Mummy yet!)

I've been to disney tons of times, but my husband hasn't. He's only been there once, and he was 3 or 4. I wasn't even thinking that JAWS and Earthquake were at universal!!!! Duh!!! I just knew that I really liked those rides the last time I was there, and I didn't even remember that they were at universal. I thought they were at MGM! OH well, maybe next year. 6 parks in 2 days is too much! I want to enjoy myself!

Thanks for the itinerary example. I will try and see if I can come up with something.
