Can you buy resale with a reservation in place?

If I'm buying a resale contract will the sale be allowed to go through by Disney, the state, whoever else may control the process if a reservation is made with those points after we close?

I'm planning to ask the seller agent to ask the seller to book a couple rooms for me for June 2022 and I wonder if any knows if this is allowable.

I'm waiting on ROFR for a resale contract that has Holding points set to evaporate at the end of July 2022. I'm worried that if I don't control the points until late February, that the rooms I want (or any rooms at all) will be available for the dates I want to use them.

We already have a trip planned for June 21-26 on my current Poly contract and we could extend our trip by going early from June 18-21.

When I bought my initial resale Poly contract, I asked them to book dates for me then and I was stonewalled. I don't know if they "can't" or just "wouldn't". If I'm told no again, I just want to know if they literally can't do it or if they're just not willing.

If you know the rule, I'd appreciate your thoughts.

My understanding is that any reservations made by the seller will be cancelled before the sale can go through. That’s why some sellers set a delayed closing to occur after the reservation is completed.

Thanks. I get why people delay closing. The seller is either using those points or they’ve rented them out. It just seems like the seller should be able to book for the buyer.
I'm just trying to make sure I get to use those points.

You are transferring ownership and the contract will be going to a new membewhip.

Reservations are not transferable between memberships so even if was booked after closing time it would be canceled as it was booked under the current owner.

I can’t even transfer a reservation made on one membership to the other and I am the same owner.

Unfortunately you will have to wait until you have your membership and the points to book.

The holding points can’t be used for stays more than 60 days out so if you are set to get your points by February you won’t be able to book your desired days in June until April.” So I wouldn’t stress about booking ahead

That was my thought as well. Reservations couldn't be made with holding points for June until April.
