Can you buy gift certificates to restaurants?

I've been reading about the connections meal vouchers but that doesn't really seem like my thing. However, it would be helpful if I had a way to pay for my meals before arriving.

Do you know if any of the theme park or resort restuarants allow you to purchase gift certificates over the phone?

No, but you can buy Disney Dollars through a Disney Store.

You can also purchase travelers checks in advance.
