Yes, you can buy VWL directly from Disney. According to Dvcnews.com (see http://www.dvcnews.com/index.php/dvc-program/financial/pricing-a-promotions), Disney is selling VWL for $101/point. In most cases, you might find a VWL resale contract for significantly less price-per-point.

Disney sells all of their resorts. Prices for the newer resorts with incentives will be lower, SSR, AKV, BLT, VGC because Disney wants close out inventory.

We just bought 85 points from WLV on Saturday, and they gave us 85 2008 points too!!

As others have said you can buy at all the resorts but keep in mind that while you get a slightly discounted price you are also getting less years of use. Also most of the older resorts are a better deal through resale.

Yes. My guide said they "make an exception" when they give the points and to call member services to have them banked and tell them it is from an add-on. I called Member Services, and they banked them while I was on the phone. I double checked on-line, and they are showing up on my 2009 UY.

I had a similiar situation last year with Beach Club but I didn't get a discounted price per point. Is Disney Selling VWL at a cheaper price right now?

We bought at $101 per point, I think that's the normal price? We heard the points might be going up to $120 in October, and decided to take the plunge and do Dis financing since we couldn't find a smaller contract resale. Those smaller contracts get snagged up fast! It was our intention all along, when we bought out 75 pt resale at BWV to get a 85pt contract at VWL so we'd have the 160 total.

Initially, we couldn't decidewhich resort buy at, so decided to buy smaller contracts and take turns between the two every-other-year.
