can you buy an iphone from US?

I,ve always wanted an iphone, is it possible to buy one in the USA Cheaper? will it work with a uk vodaphone simcard? any advice would be great.

You probably could but it will mean unlocking it, and I'm not sure if you will have to jailbreak it too, which invalidates any warranty etc.
I don't think it's worth it for the amount you may save, IMO.

Whilst in the US last october we got completely washed away by Shamu, and consequenlty damaged by mobile

Its important for us to be in contact with the UK due to business and therefore attempted to simply replace the handset. Not a chance.

I had to end up getting a pay as go and a top up card for the last week.

I am however intrested on the pirce comparisons to the Itouch and Ipad.

Yeah, got mine at the Apple store at the Florida Mall. Went to that one as there's a Best Buy near by I'm case Apple had none

Just checked my receipt, was $533.41 Inc tax, which on today's bank rate is £340

Is it though? Surely they can tell when they run diagnostics on it in the store? I had been led to believe that they can see if it's been jailbroken?

Nope, factory setting is that, complete reset with no trace. People tend to get a bit scared round the topic of jail breaking but I don't see the fuss.

Especially now it's been given the legal go ahead (always hated apple being able to have such tight control over a product that you own)
