Hi,
We will be visiting universal for just one day. Is a FOTL (front of the line) pass avaliable for purchase if you are not staying onsite? If so how do you buy it and can you purchase in advance?

Thank you! :hourglass

Yes, you can purchase it either over the phone in advance, have your concierge at the hotel book it for you, or take your chances and buy it when you get to the park.

It's not as good as the hotel keys FOTL which are unlimited access. The express pass plus gets you in the express line one time for each ride and show except for PT Flyers.

Universal usually only sets the price based on the anticipated crowds so sometimes you can only purchase them a month in advance, so if your date is further than one month in the future, it might not show the express pass plus option when you purchase the tickets.

Go to: http://www.univacations.com/
Click on "tickets only" then enter your dates and number in party. Then
click search.

When it takes you to the next page. scroll down to where it says:

Departure Date: Nights:
Use the GO button to Book Your Tickets Now!

Enter the date and number of nights and click "Go." It should then take
you to a page that has the Universal and Islands of Adventure Express
plus pass along with tickets. That says: Option Price Guide
Universal Express Plus-Islands of Adventure $XX.xx (this will be the
price not x)
Universal Express Plus-Universal Studios Florida $XX.xx

Included features and/or taxes:
Handling Fee 2.00

Do NOT purchase express unless you know the exact date you need them as
they are dated and only good for the date on the pass. Also the express
pass is sold for each park. You can't use the Universal express pass
card at IOA and vice versa.

Thank you very much! That was so helpful! I found it with your help!

I do have one more question - if I purchase online and put in dates does that mean that I am stuck with using the tickets on that day only? No changes? :flower:

My two cents is that the non-onsite FOTL pass is SO not worth it. When we were there last month, it was like 37 bucks per person and only one opportunity on a handful of preselected rides. Save yourself the money and go to Mythos. :o)

The only way to change the date is to go to guest services. But it is time consuming. I suggest you buy them only if you know your exact date you plan to use them.

Preselected? Every ride that takes express, which is just about everything.

Cheers

Every ride and show takes express except PT Flyers.

If I get to the park at around 9am, will I still be risking the FOTL to be sold out? My upcoming trip is during WDW's Jersey's Week

I honestly don't think it will be sold out, however, the line may be long to get it and by the time you get up to the front of the line it could be sold out. The easiest way for you to get it and give yourself peace of mind is to book it at least one day in advance. The hotel you are staying at should be able to do that at the concierge desk.

Last year during Jersey week it wasn't crowded at all at Universal. I don't think you'll even need it.

On July 3rd this year, the parks were super crowded and even then the express didn't sell out into late in the afternoon. I just don't think you will have much of a crowd when you go the first part of November.

My sister bought FOTL passes last year and she said that they were $$ (she went for 4th of July, maybe that's why she paid so much). I find that if I do express pass I don't wait more that 5 or 10 min in line and it's free!!!! :cheer2:  :cool1: :bounce:

Anyone know what the cost usually is the 2nd week of December? After getting spoiled with FOTL in Feb before Pres day weekend, I hate the thought of waiting in line.

Does the Express Pass system run comparably to WDW's (do they ever "run out" of passes)?

Yes they do run out of passes. The first to run out are usually ROTM and rides like Spiderman and the hulk. Dueling Dragons express passes amazingly last until the end of the day. The prices do rise to 37.00$ in the busy times of the year, but during the off months like Feb we got ours for 15.00 a person. Also, there is one for both parks and then you can just get express plus for one park.FOTL is much better than express in my personal opinion.
