Can you bring food or drink on the Disney buses?

We're staying at POP in the fall and using Disney transportation. I'm thinking that an easy thing to do while waiting for buses in the morning is to give my son (3years) his breakfast while waiting for the bus. But, if the bus comes quickly and he's not done yet, can I bring the food and finish feeding him on the bus?

Any other ideas of how to help a toddler wait for the bus? Is there somewhere inside to wait at Pop or do you have to wait outside in the metal bar queue line?

Thanks! :cool1:

This question was asked a short while back in another thread. In his reply, Tyler, a Disney bus drivaer, said no. Due to the difficulty in cleaning up spills and crumbs and the consequent danger of roach infested buses.

There was a long thread on this a few weeks ago, but basically you can bring capped/unopened drinks and food on the bus, but no eating or drinking while on the bus. Tyler (Chip n Dale Express, bus driver) cited all the reasons why it's not allowed.

My advice would be to either eat in the room or grab something from the parks.

HTH!!! :teeth:

I've seen people give their kids cereal and oatmeal on the bus. Both times the items were carried in a bag and handed out once everyone was seated.

The cereal and oatmeal were in those single serve bowls that you can buy at the supermarket.

I've also seen tons of people using their mugs on the bus. One driver had my son and I toss our straws before getting on his bus but never said anything about the mugs. :confused3

Here's what Tyler said on the subject:

"Eating and Drinking is not allowed on Disney transportation.

Most drivers will enforce this rule fairly well... and for good reason. People will often leave thier trash behind, and little kids will often spill thier popcorn or cheerios, or whatever they have. The food will then not only be messy, but attract lots of bugs, which is never a good thing."

Feed your son before you go to the bus stop, and play games like "I Spy" or just talk about what you're going to be doing that day while on the bus.

I LOVE the drivers who request that you not use radios/cel phones/pages on the bus.....

:goodvibes

I do see people drinking, but food can be a challenge - I've been on the bus before watching children make a huge mess with cereal, bagel/cream cheese, etc. Sometimes the bus can be crowded, and it would not be easy to manoeuver.

There will always be another bus coming, if you need to wait....

I use my cell phone (quietly) on the bus--when it's the middle of the afternoon and I'm alone or maybe with one or two other passengers. I don't use it when it's crowded in the morning or the end of the day. I also do'nt use it in a restaurant--if I get a call I need to take, I leave the table and go into the lobby, otherwise I let it go to VM and call back after dinner.
