I know this is a strange question, but am just trying to figure out how we can get some alcohol to our disney resort, since we are taking ME and won't be able to stop at a liquor store. Can we bring the little bottles of alcohol in our carryons if they are under the 3 oz. limit?

The bottles would have to also fit in the 3-1-1 quart size zip seal bag. Not sure how many would fit. Only one bag per person.

If you have checked bags you could buy "wine diapers" which both protect the bottles and are absorbent in case a bottle breaks, and put them in your checked bag.

In case you don't know, the resorts have shops where you can buy liquor. Not cheaply, but not so highly priced that you'll have to take out a loan. :)

I can't see you getting many of those little 3 oz bottles into your 1 quart zip loc baggie. You might check out the grocery services that deliver to the resorts. At one time, Garden Grocer did deliver alcohol, then they put that service on a temporary hold. I am not sure if they have resumed.

Is it medically necessary? Be creative, put it in a cough medicine bottle. :p

The Poly has a surprisingly decent variety of liquor in their gift shop. It was more expensive than home, but not awful. I'd buy it at your resort shop.

Yes, the limit is 100 ml ,around 3.4 oz. You're not allowed to drink them on the plane

That's the official per container size. You can take, in carry on, as many containers of liquids as fit in a one quart bag

Thanks for all in info everyone. I wouldn't feel comfortable putting any in our checked bags because I wouldn't want to risk them breaking and me having to clean clothes at disney.;) We will probably just buy a bottle at the gift shop. I like to plan ahead and get what we need. thanks.

There are those bladder type, IV bag looking water bottles (seen them everywhere for sale) that you could transfer your preferred spirit into and double ziploc bag them before packing. Done it this way for a few trips with success

Can't you buy some at the airport, post-security check? It can't be that much more cost wise than at the Poly gift shop.

Just a reminder:

Hess Gas Stations carry Beer and Wine. There is one across from BW and one located across from DTD. I would take the bus to DTD. Bringing a bag and purchase and return to the resort. The prices are very reasonable if you have no access to a car during stay. :thumbsup2

Rum Runners . . .

About 8-9 fit, depending on the shape of the bottle and how good your packing skills are. And you get one baggie per person. 8-900ml of liquor is plenty for me, but YMMV.

I brought 2 bottles of wine back in my checked luggage on my last trip. I used the bottle bags that I bought at the winery - they look like bubble wrap and seal tightly so that even if the bottle did break, there wouldn't be any spillage on your clothing. I also wrapped them in some clothing and everything was good when we got home.

whoops, those are probably 50ml bottles I'm thinking of, not 100.

Thanks everyone, we are staying at POR and have the water taxi, so maybe I will send my husband on a alcohol run to the Hess station. Gotta do what ya gotta do.

Many liquors are available in plastic bottles now. I would see if you can get one of those and then put it in your checked luggage -packed in a ziploc (double bag if you are worried) in the center of your luggage. It will be fine!!! Plus, worst case you are doing laundry (not cleaning glass) which will take about as much time as a trip to the Hess station.

I've flown with wine/beer/water many times and never had a problem. I check all of my toiletries and never once had anything break. I do pack everything in plastic bags as a precaution, but nothing has happened yet.

just look at all of the alcohol that is sold in the islands/mexico....all those bottles have to be checked, so lots and lots of people fly with it!
