Can you bring a waterproof camera to go parasailing? I was thinking of getting maybe a disposable waterproof camera. If they make them. I didn't know if they let you take them up with you or not. I thought it would be neat to have some pictures from up in the air.

Thanks for any help!

I don't see any reason why you couldn't. I know they make waterproof disposables that we've used underwater before. The only thing from a parasailing perspective is that you'll want to make sure it has very fast film so you won't get any motion blur (even though you won't be going that fast, it'll be jumpy.) I don't know if they make 400+ speed film for waterproof cameras or not. I would assume so.

My hubby did the parasailing a couple of trips ago, and he said you stay totally dry...so much so that he is planning to bring our videocamera when he does it again.

My dh and dd(10) tandem parasailed and loved it. He took a disposable camera and asked one of the other passengers to take pics......they guy did great. He took about 10 shots! I got GREAT pics of them getting strapped in, flying above the Magic, and as they are coming back in for a landing. Ask to get your feet wet, and they will let you down slowly so your feet get in the water, and then back up again. Next time, he plans to take another camera up with them.

I was just looking through the information that Disney sent me. I was planning on having DD and DS do the parasailing with DH. He wants to do it, and I'm too freaked out by the thought!

Anyway, there have been numerous threads about maximum weight, and I didn't realize that there is a minimum weight. The literature says 85 pounds (maybe 80, my brain is a little numb this am). DD and DS are both around 50 pounds. So, is the minimum weight per person? or combined? Anyone know???

If they can't do this, I'd like to tell them now. If they can't, I'm thinking that the 3 of us will do the banana boat. It's certainly going to save us a good chunk of change!!

Dh went parasailing last October. He had 2 disposable cameras. One he left with a fellow parasailer to take pictures of him and the other he took up with him. The pictures came out great! He did not get wet at all.

I parasailed with my 8 /o daughter back in December at CC, and I recall the minimum weight being posted as 80 lbs. However, when I purchased the tickets at the shore excursion desk on board, the CM told me that my 70 lb. daughter would be fine since she was going with me. He indicated that the 80 lb. minimum was for solo parasailing. When you get to the dock to get on your parasail boat, there is no scale or anything. So I tend to think that your husband would have to go up 2 seperate times, once with your daughter and once with your son. Cameras are fine, people in the boat can take your pic from the boat as you go up or take the camera with you since you "sit" in a harness.

No matter which way you go with this, I have to say definitely do the Banana Boating as a family. Our whole family had a blast with this, as a matter of fact it was such a blast that we did it twice (relatively inexpensive at $14 each compared to the cost of parasailing). One note of caution, if you sit in either of the front 2 positions of the boat you will get several mouthfuls of salt water splast, and into your eyes as well. Since someone had warned us of this, we had a pair of Speedo goggles with us for my 7 y/o son to wear, and he sat in the front next to me. Despite the salty spray (and note that the water down there is alot saltier than the mid-atlantic ocean, it was absolutely awesome.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
