My dh is a camera nut and recently purchased a medium-format camera. He's been reading online camera MBs and others have said that they've been denied entrance to the parks with professional looking camera equipment.

Has anyone had any experience with this? He'd dearly love to get some great photos with his new toy but doesn't want to encounter any problems.

TIA for any info! :)

Hmmmmmmm, I don't see why it would not be allowed, assuming it was not obtrusive on others. Good question. Not sure. You might give Guest Services a call at 407 824-4321 or Photographic Services at 407 827-5099.

While I haven't seen anyone toting a medium format kit around Disney World, I can't imagine that they'd deny you entrance based on film size. Entering the parks with expensive camera equipment shouldn't be a problem.

If you hit the gates with a wheeled cart, lighting setup and an assistant, then yes, they might ask about your intent.

I'd apply the thirty foot test. From thirty feet away does your husband look like he's a shutterbug tourist or like he's working.

Thanks Dan and Ronda -- that's great advice from both of you. Neither of us thinks he'd look like a "pro" but he's going to call tomorrow and make sure it's okay. :)
