Can you borrow points once they are banked?

Hi everyone
I am so confused, I banked our points and our current use year is June 2014. I had a vacation planned the second week of June and my husband's schedule changed so we had to move it to 5/31-6/8, when i went online to book, i was only able to book starting June 1 and I know this is because i banked them not thinking we would need them before June. Is there anyway to borrow points back into this use year or do we just have to find another place to stay that one night? if we have to do that, does anyone know if there are any DVC discounts for room only reservation? I am new at this, so sorry, i havent figured it all out yet

You have to call MS in order to book a reservation that crosses the UY. It's a quirk of the online system.

What they will have to do is to borrow some of your 2014 points to use for the May 31st night and then they will use your banked 2013 points and any additional 2014 points that are required for the rest of the reservation.

And to answer the question about borrowing back banked points - no. Banking is a final transaction. That is why they would borrow 2014 points into the 2013 UY.

You could also do this online and make two reservations and then call MS and have them joined together, maybe? So you could book May 31 online by borrowing from your regular 2014 UY points. Then you could book June 1 and onward and select to use the banked points first. That should work, but maybe easier to just call MS, unless you are worried about availability and want to get it done.

Just make sure you are sure about May 31. Once you borrow from 2014, they are stuck in your 2013 UY and would need to be used by May 31, 2014.

I called member services and you guys were exactly right, I was able to book borrowing points, I am sooo excited I didnt know you could do this and just thought I would have to pay out of pocket for that first night. So glad I asked and I was able to do this.
