While we are going to be in Florida this year the Carousel of Progress, The Timekeeper, The Frontier Shootin' Arcade, Liberty Square Riverboat, Astro Orbiter, Wonder of Life, Fantasmic, The Backlot Tour and Kali River Rapids will all be closed! can you believe that? :(

I wsa told the since The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter is being redone into a Stitch ride that The Timekeep and Carousel of Progress with be open but it doesn't say so on the Disney World site. Any help?

We leave January 17th, arrive in FL on the 19th. Leave FL on the 30, get home on Febuary 1st.

Of all you listed, it's pretty much what I found except for

Fantasmic! Scheduled to go into rehab from Jan. 26 through Jan. 30, 2004 reopening Jan. 31.

You could catch this before it closes. You sadi you arrive on the 19th...you still have a few days to catch it and you do want to catch it..it's a great show.

I don't if you have ever been to WDW and seen it?? The others, I personally don't think you are missing to much..
I could live with out

The Frontier Shootin' Arcade,
Liberty Square Riverboat,
Astro Orbiter,
Wonder of Life,

The Backlot Tour (CLosed for 3 months so I'll miss it too..Darn)
Kali River Rapids (never done this one)

and these two you said would be opened....I hope so cuz I really like CoP.
Carousel of Progress
The Timekeeper

Yeah we were planning on hitting Fantasmic early on (some of the people in the party haven't seen it) but but we have a one/two people that will be joining us somewhere in there that might not be able to get to see it.

As a whole we love The Timekeeper and COP but we haven't gotten to see them in about two years. The younger people in our group LOVE Kali River Rapid but I have never done it. I LOVE Wonders of Life with some of their attractions. Namely CC because we have a boy that age in our group and it is sssoooooo true!

Random question: Can you have the electric wheelchairs in the Behind the Seeds tour??

At least the MUST-DO Mission Space will be open. There is plenty of other great rides that will be open, that you won't even notice the closed ones. Have fun

You DON'T want to do Kali in January anyway. You get DRENCHED. The effect is very much like showering with your clothes on. That's not an exaggeration....you get soaked.

The weather can be iffy in January, and you don't want to walk around in wet clothes when it's cold out.

Even in August 2000 I was drenched through to my skivvies - had to go back to room & change. Now we wear rain ponchos on Kail & splash Mtn. DH won't go near either. But the boys & are there!
:earsboy: :earsgirl: pirate: pirate:

I also read on a couple of different websites that CoP and TK would be open while AE is closed. I'm counting on it!

(yo--TF: ya listening?)

See ya there!::yes::

Just got back tonight. We were bummed out that we missed Body Wars and Cranium Command but seeing COP was wonderful - we know it can disappear at any time.

You will love Mission: Space! Just keep your head back! After you ride it a couple of times, try pulling your head up and looking at the others in the capsule - you become dizzy (and possibly sick) very quickly. Loved this ride!!!!

Wow...it's hardly worth walking out to Tomorrowland if all they have open is Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain.

I wasn't a big fan of Timekeeper but we go on CoP at least once every trip (when it's open).

I take it this means the Wonders of Life area at Epcot is closed this month?

I know how you feel Czarina.:( DH and I are going Jan26-30th and I was suprised at all the rehabs. I wanted to catch Fantasmic, do the Backlot Tour, Wonders of Life as this is only our 2nd time and we didnt do them the 1st time. We also want to do COP and Timekeeper so I hope they will be open. Hopefully no crowds and no lines will make up for it.

Yes, you can. I took at ECV on it about 2 years ago. Some of the corners are a little hard to get through, but as soon as you master one, you will not have a problem with the others.

We have gone in no other time then in January and rarely have a problem. As far as being soaked the only day we could do it would be the day we pull in and then we would make it the last stop on the way out so soaking would not be a problem. Mom, dad and the munchkins love it and have begging me to go on it with them all year. I refuse to walk through any place drenched to the bone. This year it looks like I might not have too. They also offered to buy me a poncho. Hence, the only reason it crossed my mind. I have no problems being wet but not when I am in my street clothes and walking through parks!

kbhehl, you have no idea how happy that makes me! I was just really kinda leary about it since it wasn't on the official WDW site. Thank you!

ekmdisney, thank you! My grandmother and aut would love that tour but there would be no way for either one of them to walk it. Once again, that was something I couldn't find on the official WDW site so I am kinda worndering it is will be there when we are. EEERRRRR.

I was told at the Guest Information desk that the Wonders of Life is closed until Easter. We were not happy but what are you gonna do? Just wish they gave some advance warning so that we could have gone before it closed - missed it by one day!

The Wonders of Life Pavillion is now on Seasonal Status. That means they will only open it up during very busy periods. CoP and Timekeeper have the same status, but they are open while Alien Encounter is being redone. Personally I think that putting the Wonders of Life Pavillion on seasonal status means it won't be long before it is the next pavillion completely redone (like Horizons and World of Motion). I have no facts to back that up, it's just my personal conjecture.

Personally I think it stinks that anything is put on seasonal status.

Does that mean the entire pavilion will be closed? :(

I thought it was just a movie or two that was going into rehab. We only did the WOL pavilion on our first trip but I was really looking forward to exploring a little more on this trip with DS. :(
