Can you be turned away for returning to a ride after the time posted on your FP?

We rarely use our FP's during the return time window & never had a problem.

I wonder how many people outside of the DIS really know this secret?

When we visited in July, we did this will all of our fastpasses and were never turned away BUT on Goofy's Sky School the CM's (2 of them) did look at our fastpass return time and sternly said to us that the fastpass return time had passed and that we should try to use them during the return time. But they were the only CM's that said anything to us. We road ST twice long after our fastpass return time (3pm) and rode it at about 10:30pm and they didn't bat an eye. They did check the time to make on the FP but I think that was to make sure that we werent trying to use it early.

Same! The CM at GSS told me, "the time has passed, but I'll let you go anyway."

I've had many, many times where the Cast Member just gives a cursory superquick glance towards your Fastpass tickets. I wouldn't think this would be the case for Star Tours, but say on Splash Mountain, they rarely bother checking times or even dates.

I've had a CM give me a hard time about using a FP past the time listed (same day though) on Autopia. I pushed back and was able to use the FP, but had I been a newbie I might have listened to him when he told me I couldn't use it.

FWIW, using a FP after its window has never been an issue for me at either DLR, WDW or Tokyo Disney. I have done it hundreds of times.

If it ever was an issue, I would ask the CM to check with their supervisor or another CM because I know it is Disney policy to accept the FPs after their window. That would certainly resolve the issue.

But if it didn't for whatever reason, I would keep the FPs and come back later and check if the CM was different and then try again.

:teacher:

We've never used our FP during the window it was good for even for ST when we were there on 7/10 - 7/15. I got FP's at approx. 8:15 am, the return time was for approx. 9:30 am we didn't use them until 8 pm that night. They didn't even give us a 2nd glance, dirty look, anything. Just measured my son and let us go.

I wish I had known about it in 2008 when my GF and I lost track of time and RAN LIKE MANIACS from Japan all the way to Test Track :drive: to get in the fastpass lane before our window closed! We made it though, and we had plenty of time to relax before the ride because... you know... the fastpass line was over an hour :furious:

We were there last week. Used fast passes after the time all the time, no problem.

We did experience many rides being down. More then at WDW it did seem. :confused3

One night we had FP for Big Thunder and it was down about 9:00 at night. We asked if we could use our FP the next day. The CM said we could if the ride was down the rest of the night. I have no idea if the ride stayed down the rest of the night. We are from the eastern time zone, so we didn't stay until closing.

The next morning we presented them at FP line, explained it was down when we tried to use them last night and they let us right in.

I think that is the only time they will let you use them the next day, if the ride was down for many hours the day before.

I would guess that if you tried to use them after the time but the same day, go back an hour later or when the line is down a little there there is a different cast member and try again.

It could happen, but I think it is very rare.

We've never been turned away or commented to when we came back later than the stated time window.

That being said, I find a lot of CMs don't look closely. We were doing EMH at WDW and you have to show your room key (a pale blue cedit card-sized card) to enter the line. DBF forgot he'd given me his room key when we went on another ride (cause 'fanny packs are dumb' :confused3 :rotfl:). He grabbed what he thought was his room key, held it up, got waved into the line and only realized that it was his Ontario Driver's License (also pale blue) he'd used when I went to put my card away and found his in my pack. :lmao:

In my experience, NONE of the locals I know that go to the park regularly knew this and every time I tell them, they refuse to believe it. My bf who has grown up in Socal and been to DL countless times refuses to try it out to see if we are right, even though we asked a CM about it and he said it was fine.

It's really funny because they all look at me like I am crazy when I say it, and then wonder how I know better than them!

I was there last week and a family next to us was worrying they were going to miss their pf window. I explained you could not go a min before the time on the pass, but can use it any time after, as long as it is the same day. They were shocked (and relived.) I think I learned it from a cast member at WDW when we were late one day and asked.

There are a lot of Disney message boards, and a lot of info that goes around. I think they also suggest to hoard fp in the unofficial guide, or at least that is what Len said when we were with them on new years eve. Get them as soon as you can, and save them for the evening when the lines are too long to wait.

Yeah, i gave a young couple 2 Indy FPs that were past the time window and explained to them that they are still useable, but i dont think they believed me and probably thought i was just trying to trick them rather than be nice to them. :sad2:

Thanks jicarv.

I hope others comment. If there was ever an attraction that a zealous (or new) CM might over scrutinize.....perhaps it would be ST.

Hopefully others who have picked up Star Tours FPs early.....& then used them LATE.....will comment.

On 6/23 we pulled ST fast passes @ 8:11 am, I believe our return time was 10 am-11am. We returned @ around 11:30, the CM taking return FP's was a bit on the cranky side and did say to my Aunt that we missed the return window, but the CM let them ride anyway. I think they expect it on all of the older rides but when one just opens they expect guests to WANT to ride as soon as they can? This is the first and only time I have ever experienced a CM even mentioning that we were past our return time.:confused3

My friend is at DL now and he said that he saw someone get turned away at a ride. I thought it was okay to return later than your FP time.

The ONLY time it's ever happened to me was when a new CM was being trained on Indy and she said I couln't go, but her trainer (who was standing right there) said "Oh no it's ok it's after the time" or something to that effect and I went right in. Maybe it was a new CM?? :confused3

We have never been turned away for using a FP after the posted window on the FP. We actually never really make it back to most rides during the window time. Just too much going on with DK's to keep to that window. But we have never had a problem using FP's this way.
