Can you be turned away for returning to a ride after the time posted on your FP?

My friend is at DL now and he said that he saw someone get turned away at a ride. I thought it was okay to return later than your FP time.

that's what i thought too but he said not they were told that they missed their return window. sounds strange to me. maybe they ran into a bad CM.

I would say yes.. Because you are supposed to return in the time frame. But my opinion is neither here nor there heh.

Need more info.

What ride?

What was the return window (the hours)?

When did they actually return?

To answer your original Post Question:

I agree with FlameGirl. The answer is no.

(unless we get double confirmation from Dis'ers who were rejected with same day FPs.)

:)

Ya I've never heard of anyone being turned away after the time frame, I always do it and have never been turned away

Weird...did this with every FP last week and was never turned away.

ride = Star Tours
don't know the other details, since my friend just overheard the conversation and didn't actually see their FP ticket. maybe he heard wrong and the person returned too early.

Thanks jicarv.

I hope others comment. If there was ever an attraction that a zealous (or new) CM might over scrutinize.....perhaps it would be ST.

Hopefully others who have picked up Star Tours FPs early.....& then used them LATE.....will comment.

But in case there are any DLR newbies who are reading this thread......9,999 out of 10,000 Diser's who pick up FPs early in the AM.....& then use them the same day, in the evening hours (after the "window").....have experienced NO problems. In fact this is FP strategy 101.

& If this policy/strategy ever changes, then this board will blow up with posts. :lmao:

Yeah I can see ST being picky about this since the waits are crazy as it is and it's newly open

When we visited in July, we did this will all of our fastpasses and were never turned away BUT on Goofy's Sky School the CM's (2 of them) did look at our fastpass return time and sternly said to us that the fastpass return time had passed and that we should try to use them during the return time. But they were the only CM's that said anything to us. We road ST twice long after our fastpass return time (3pm) and rode it at about 10:30pm and they didn't bat an eye. They did check the time to make on the FP but I think that was to make sure that we werent trying to use it early.

We were late on returning with FP's all last week and never witnessed what was described. I did see at ST a person who had a GAC get turned away since the person that the GAC was for was not there. We were sometimes many hours late.

CAN we be turned away? Absolutely YES :)

Disney is terrible at enforcing their own rules, thus they generally allow FP holders to use them anytime after the posted window.

However, DLR is private property owned by a corporation, thus they are allowed to set rules within the laws of the State of California and United States and enforce them as desired. Now that I think about it, they could probably kick the guest out for violating the established rules if they wanted.

We may challenge this action within the judicial system, but it is extremely probable the challenger will loose due to the clearly posted times and rules for FP usage.

I can understand Disneyland managers adhering closely to the FP window to prevent a rush on the more popular events and attractions at any one time.

Seconded.

I've never been turned away for using a FP after the time window printed on it, but I could definitely see it happening at Star Tours. The last time I was in the Park I got a FP for Star Tours at around 11 am, and it wasn't good until around 11 PM :scared1: . So...I can see why they'd be strict about return times for ST. Any of the other FP rides, though...not so much.

I was just there last week. BTMR and SM were down at different times and CMs were announcing that FPs could be used at any time later in the day. We also got SM FPs that were during the time we had dinner reservations for BB, so we asked the CM and he said we could use it anytime after the window starts.

No. I very rarely return on time and they always let me in.

Dh and ds used FPs after the return window on STs yesterday with no issues.

In May, we were there while they were having a ST soft opening. My DSIS and her BF got in line while we were busy meeting Rapunzel. We made our way to Tomorrowland afterward and found the end of the ST line - it was huge and the girls didn't want to wait. So, we wandered around TL and found my DSIS and her BF in line. We talked to them for a few minutes and I mentioned that we might go ride BTMRR. The guy in front of them in line gave us FPs for BTMRR and said he was a CM for that ride and got to ride it whenever he wanted (he said this when I was telling him that we didn't want to take his FPs). All 3 FPs he gave us were expired, but for that day. That told me that they are fine w/ us using FPs later in the day. They didn't give us any grief when we went and used them either! ;)

We were scolded last September for using our Buzz fastpasses after the window of time on our tickets. We were allowed on though.

CAN you be turned away? Yes

WILL you be turned away? 99.9% of the time, no. However, they can say no. Technically, there is a return window. Generally, the end time is ignored, but they CAN enforce it.
