Can you be late to Magical Express after landing at MCO?

The cast member took my flight info when I registered for the ME to pick me up from the airport. Does this mean that there will be a specific ME bus waiting for me to board to cross my name off the list? I'm just concerned that if I take too long to get to the ME from my plane (potty break with toddler, meltdown with toddler... anything to do with my toddler that might delay me getting to the bus lol), the bus will leave without me and a new bus won't know that I'm supposed to be on it. I'm not sure how ME works though. It might be that there is a steady stream of ME buses coming to pick people up? My question is, can I be late to the ME?

It is only on your way back to the airport that you need to be on a specific bus. Disney will give you a time, and you need to be at the bus stop 15 minute prior. That bus you can't miss!
And some of the ME buses leaving the resorts go to other resorts before yours at times. CBR always seemed to be the last resort picked up in the Epcot area. WDW gave my wife and I a Mears voucher after they had no seats left on the ME.

Many years ago my first impression of CBR was on the Magical Express bus. It was full when we pulled in to CBR to pick up more guests, and there was quite a group waiting. The bus driver even asked us to "have his back" if it got ugly.

No, there is no 'late' to the ME when you arrive. You are not assigned to a specific ME bus, you just get on the next bus heading to your resort after you check in at the ME desk in the airport. They mostly need your flight information to put it in the system for your bag transfer. Once you get to the airport, you can take as long as you want to get to the ME boarding area. Change your toddlers diaper, stop and get something to eat, use the bathroom, do some shopping....no problem at all.

Now on the other hand...when you are leaving your resort and going back to the airport, you do have a specific ME bus reservation, and you need to be there on time (they want you at the pick up spot 15 minutes early, in fact). That one you DO need to be on time for.

Nope. Our flight got in on a Saturday night and we didn't board DME until early Sunday morning (spent the night at the MCO Hyatt). I don't know if ours was the first bus that morning, but there was no one else but us when we got there. Maybe four to six other people showed up while we waited (less than five minutes) to board the bus. The three of us and another group of three were all that got onto our bus. The other group got off at the Poly and we were the only ones on the bus riding into our first ever stay at the Grand Floridian. Twas so special. :)

Don't be late for the one going back. I mean, unless you just cannot face it and decide you're never leaving. That's a strong impulse when faced with the "Tragical Depress" ride back to MCO. (Actually, it's quite a pleasant experience. Disney even does that right. They ease you gently out of the Magic.)

Thank you, everyone, for your replies! This lessens my anxiety immensely. A quick bite to eat sounds like a great plan before we head onto the bus! :sunny:
