Can you assign an existing reservation to another person?

I apologize if this has been asked & answered. I looked through a page or so of threads.

Our scenario is that we have a reservation booked under my name for the super 40% off discount in December (booked back in Jan. 07). At the same time, I made a reservation for our friends for a separate room. My friend called in and paid her deposit. So we have two confirmation #'s and a linked reseration #. It was because she booked linked to us that she also got the discount.

There is a decent chance she & her family will not be able to go. If so, I'd like to take my mom and have the reservation changed from my friend to either me or my mom (either would work b/c we'll pay for the room.)

To add this to the mix, we all have the dining plan as well. I understand the cancellation / changes, etc. so I know all this needs to be done more than 45 days out and we are currently 5 months out. TIA!

Yes, you can change names on a reservation with no problem. As you said, be sure to do it before 45 days out!

This information is partially correct. As long as the primary guest (the person to whom the reservations documents are addressed) does not change, all of the other guest names can be changed. However, if the primary guest is not traveling the reservation needs to be cancelled and rebooked.

This is what my confirmation says:

NON-TRANSFERABLE: Reservations are not transferable, and the guest for whom the room(s) or package(s) are reserved may not be changed.

Yes, that would be the case, the original traveling person would not be going. We'd be trying to substitute her....
