Hi..I'm a mom with an 11 month old. August 18th my friends kids are coming alone for a visit (we live in Naples FL they live in MA). There mom says they have no interest in going to Disney. They were last there when they were 5 or 6. They are now 17 and 14. I asked them if they'd like to go and they said they are not into rides. One is afraid of heights the other doesn't like roller coasters. I explained there is a ton to do but they didn't seem interested. Just said they've already been there. I can't understand this because we love Disney...but should I bother listening or just surprise them and book a short trip. It's a 3 hour drive from here and it will be expensive to buy tickets so can you help me out? Do you think I"d be wasting my money and time. They are here for 4 days and said they don't mind playing chip-n-putt and going to the beach. Just thought you guys might be able to explain things in their point of view.

Thanks for all your help!
Sherri

Well, I'm 14, and I love disney, but I also like the roller coasters. If they like going on quieter, more child-oriented rides or shows, I would go for it. But if they really aren't into that, I would just skip it. I would never pass up a trip to disney, so you can take me!!! :rotfl:

OH I'll go!! :| no really i want to go.

I don;t see why anyone WOULDN'T want to go to disney. I mean, not all rides are high or roller coasters....trust me. I'm afraid of both O_O Maybe tell them it's changed, and who knows, they might actually go.
But if they are really aginst it, then you should just probally stick to golf and the beach.
:D hope i helped...sorta..

Thanks so much for your help! We don't want to 'drag' them to Disney. We just want them to have a good time. Wish they were as excited as you guys are. I think if they gave it a try they would have a blast.

Thank you again for your help it's good to know there are teenagers who still love Disney...maybe you can start giving my 11 month old tips!!!! Don't know what we'd do if she didn't like Disney!

tell them about how they chagned pirate of the carabean  i dont thing they will turn down disney LOL :teeth:

i don't know why they wouldn't want to go but i would show them a few brochures/ maps on it sice its been ten years sice they have gone. then decide once they are down there because tickets are soo expensive and you don't want to waste your money on something that they might not enjoy.

Good Luck!,
Stephanie

Thank you...that's a great idea...didn't think of showing them brochures. You are right all the parks are so different from 10 yrs ago, plus I don't think they could have gotten on many rides when they were 5!

We just moved to Florida from Coventry CT (right near UCONN). My family tells me it's SO HOT up there right now...it's actually warmer up there (for once).

Keep cool!

If you have any of the disney vacation videos, I would show them what rides they might like on the video. I'm also afraid of heights and no ride has ever bothered me before. Everyone loves disney some just don't know it yet. :thumbsup2

i think you should take them and not go on any rollor coasters or any high rides

Take them places like Animal Kingdom and MGM and EPCOT along w/ the Magic Kingdom. When Walt built DIsney He made it a place all ages could love!!

Disney is the happiest place on Earth. Everyone i know love Disney. I dont like heights or coasters but i trust Disney's rides n alot r not high n alot of the r not coasters there r like 5 or 7 coasters n one ride that is really high. If they r not into rides they can go to the arcades, pools,or they can shop. I'm goin to disney Aug.17 n i cant wait. Epcot would be their thing because there r only a few rides n they can cheak out all of the countries that is aloy of fun n i think they'll like that alot. They can go to Downtown Disney where they can shop n eat or they can go to Disney Quest where they can shop, eat, n play games. There is even alot more then that. I they do go the would have the time of there lives like i do when i go. N remember u can never get tired of Disney trust me. Disney World is never a Waste so u should do it. I hope u take my advice. Good Luck :thumbsup2 :wizard:
