Can you add more people to MM?

We are 7 days out!! I am tagging-along on my DD's school music trip. If I order MM ahead of time, can we add her friends to MDE within a day or 2 of arrival? Or do they all need to be set up in their own MDE and linked before the 3-day mark for MM pictures to show up?
