Can you add Dining Plan Later?

I have looked and looked but apparently I am not looking in the right place. We are booking the week of Christmas now. I doubt I can get any ressies now, but will try. Do I have to have the Dining Plan when I book ressies? Do I have to add the dining plan when I book?

No, but the Dining Plan must be added at least 72 hours prior to check in. It can not be added at check in.
