Can you add days to tickets already purchased

We decided 2 days ago to drive to Arizona starting tomorrow, spend a few days at our friend's place, then head to disney.

This morning my husband checked his passport. It expires 3 days before we would get back. Because we are driving we don't have flight tickets to prove we have a trip planned, but the website says that we can provide hotel reservations and tickets and it's up to the discretion of the passport office agent if they grant an emergency passport. If we buy our tickets now but he can't get the passport can we add days if we take a longer trip later in the year?

I really hope he can get the passport and we can get on the road a day late. I need a vacation

Yes. We bought 3 day PH at the Disney Store and upgraded to 5 day once we were there.

You can upgrade once you get there, but you may lose any online discount you get. You might want to just buy the 3 day or more upfront in hopes that you will get to stay longer. I don't think a 5 day is that much more than a three day online.
