Can you add a day to the military ticket?

I just discovered the discounted military ticket last night. Holy cow that would save us a lot, but we would really like to go for more than 4 days. I tried to search, so I apologize if this has been asked 100 times, but can you upgrade the 4-day ticket to 5 or 6, and if so, how? Thanks!

Unfortunately, you can not add days to the Military Salute Tickets.

If you want more days then those tickets offer, you can go to any ITT/MWR office and purchase the Military discounted tickets. All kinds are available for all different numbers of days.

If you don't have a local ITT/MWR, there is one at the Shades of Green Resort right across the street from the Poly and you can purchase all military tickets there.

In one place I read that you had to be staying there to purchase them at SoG, and another I saw that you didn't. If you can buy them there and not stay on-site, is there a difference in cost?

I think the military qualifier has to be present at SOG to buy the deeply discounted 4 day tickets. Other military tickets can be bought elsewhere and can be varying lengths of time, but are less discounted.

You don't have to stay at Shades of Green to qualify for either (but it's a GREAT resort so I would encourage you to consider it, if you can).

Some people use two 4 day tickets on a trip ($169 x 2) per person for longer stays.

Depending on the number of people in your group, you could potentially just buy 2 four-day passes for each person. That's what we did in 2009. (There are limits on the total number of Salute-priced tickets you can purchase per offer period, but I can't off-hand remember what that number is.)

I don't think you have to be staying at Shades to purchase tickets at their ticket office. You just walk in and show your military ID. I DO think you have to be staying there to purchase them in advance. What I've heard is that in order to make advance FP+ reservations, guests can fax ticket purchase requests to SOG and they'll give guests the ticket information to link to their MDE before they actually arrive at the hotel. I haven't purchased tickets at SOG in advance before, and I haven't been since FP+ started, so I could be wrong.

Thanks for the info. My daughter is in the national guard. It didn't occur to me that she could buy the tickets at a discount until I just discovered the SoG thing and went WOW. I know that some parks say that the military member may buy discounted tickets for dependents only, but I don't see anything about the Disney ones that say that. We are taking the trip and paying for everything else for her to come on an increasingly tight budget, so that would be ok for her to buy them for the family, right? My husband is former military police, but we don't currently have any of his papers, so it would be a lot easier to have her do it with her current ID. (again, she is going to be on this trip with us, we are not trying to take advantage)

I will have to look up disney quest. I don't even know what that is! I don't know that we are going to pick water parks up front, bc the weather in december could be really cold (the one time I went to epcot, I had to break ice off the window of my car when I came out to the parking lot!!). It MIGHT be fine, though, who knows? Thanks so much for the site. That looks great. I was also thinking maybe a legoland day bc our boys are 8 and 10 and super huge lego fans. I know that parkwise it doesn't compare in any way to WDW, but they are right in the target age, and probably still a bit young for a lot of the universal/busch gardens ride (they are small for their age)

It is a 5 story indoor park (so weather doesn't matter) that is full of virtual realty games(pirate ship and river rafting as a family), design your own coaster, ailien encounters, be a pinball, plus a floor full of old arcade style games that you play as part of your entrance, the bumper cars their are fun too.

As far as ticket purchasing goes, she is considered the "sponsor" and needs to be present to purchase the tickets.

The "Military Salute" tickets have a limit of 6 per sponsor to activate and she would need to be the one there to activate them. She also needs to use one of them

From Disney's site:

No more than six (6) Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased and (if applicable) activated by any Eligible Service Member or spouse (regardless of the place of purchase and whether purchased by that person or that person's spouse). In addition, one of the six (6) Tickets purchased must be used by the Eligible Service Member or his/her spouse.

The remaining 5 tickets can be used by "Family and Friends"

If she chooses to purchase just discounted military tickets, they can be used by anyone and do not have to be activated by the military member.

We are a military family and have been using these wonderful tickets, both the Salute and the discounts, since 2000. Please let me know if you have any other questions and I will be happy to try and help.

Forgot to add! As far as Disney Quest goes, your admission covers just about everything that there is to do once inside. I remember a few experiences that were a bit extra but we never did any and there was plenty to keep us busy. There is also a QS restaurant inside so you don't even need to leave to eat

this is what my in-laws did for our January trip. they bought two four-day passes for them and for DH (the kids and i have APs). we priced it all out and that was the cheapest way.

also, we were able to link them to MDE using the number on the back of each pass in order to make FP+ reservations. once we got to WDW, they put the tickets onto their MagicBands and they were good to go. we didn't have any issues with the FP+ reservations at all.

No everything is included with your admission except- videos of your roller coaster ride, hard copies of your draw with an animator, tapes of your singing in the music booths, and the machines that have claws and let you get something when you do it (if you are capable of getting something). So basically it is only for extras and keepsakes- not for anything you actually do. My family has loved it since it opened. Even the skeet-ball, since you don't get tickets from it, is free- my sis loved this and would spend hours at this game alone.

And remember, with the WP&M option on the ticket, they could go FOUR different times, so even if it's too cold for the water parks, you would have this to fall back on.

You have a choice here too. The basic Salute ticket for the time you're planning is $177 for EITHER park hopper or WP&M. If you don't think you'll use the park hopper (but you probably will with December hours), you could just get the WP&M ticket. If you want both, it's only $30 more.

Yes, she will be the one going into the ticket office with me, as the sponsor. In fact, I will just put the money in her account so she can pay, as well. She will be using one of the tickets with us. Although there may be times that she goes off with a brother or 2 or whatever, for the most part, we are going to be together like one big (hopefully) happy family, lol.

FYI, just being a veteran does not qualify you to buy Military Salute tickets.
