Can Worldmark be used for Bonnet Creek?

Hey there-

So we are gambling with booking a November trip. I have seen on Redweek that there is lots of availability for Bonnet Creek 4 bedroom presidentials. Our besties parents have a boatload of Worldmark points that we could rent from them but when we were looking around the website we couldn't find Wyndham Bonnet Creek options--only Reunion.

Can Worldmark points be used for Wyndham properties? I thought they could but maybe not?

Thanks :teeth:

Worldmark's native ("in-network") resorts in the Orlando area include Kingstown Reef (near Sea World) and Reunion. I've stayed at Reunion, it was a lovely 3BR unit and the drive to WDW was not unpleasant!

Worldmark may book Bonnet Creek through Wyndham Club Pass but this requires "qualified" credits (either purchased direct from the Developer or grandfathered). Or, of course, it may also be possible (likely?) to book Bonnet Creek through RCI if your parents have either an individual RCI account linked to their Worldmark or have RCI through Worldmark's TravelShare program (developer purchase since ~2006).

Holy moly that sounds confusing 😆 . I do know all of their points are direct. Is the RCI portal availability the same as what we can see looking through DVC?

I have poked around a bit but always forget I don't have a DVC point to spare and give up... That and the clunky website does not motivate me to explore-it feels straight from 1995 :rotfl:.

The Worldmark<>RCI web interface is similar to that of DVC<>RCI but availability will be different. I believe DVC places restrictions to prevent trading DVC back into the immediate Orlando area; Worldmark has no such restriction.

I ran a search using the Worldmark<RCI Portal. I do not see any 4BR units at Bonnet Creek, only 2BR units.

If you are seeing "availability" on Redweek, I'd guess that these are weeks that have been reserved by owners and placed as private rentals. It may be that large-scale owners have booked most/all of the 4BR Presidential units to list in this manner and that you'll not find any remaining 4BR Presidential units available via Club Pass or native-Wyndham booking methods until the non-rented units near their "last day to cancel" and are returned to Club Wyndham's inventory.

If your friend's parents do choose to attempt booking through Club Pass, they will need to use their qualified WM credits, pay an exchange fee, pay a guest certificate fee and (likely) give up a Housekeeping token. Some of these are non-refundable. Tread carefully! (Might be better to rent the reservation from a stranger on Redweek?)

Thank you so much for the info! That was all super helpful. Initially I was thinking that instead of renting from a stranger it would be nice to rent from them because they have a boatload of points and would rather have the cash than travel during Covid *but* I think it is too much work for WBC. Reunion is a maybe. We've stayed before and there was availability when we looked. Not sure if we want to go for a bigger, closer rental house though. We will have 5 adults and 3 kids and might be worth it to spread out a bit more! LOL.

@linzjane88 , Did you consider WM at Kingstown Reef? Inventory this morning for the 4BR Presidential unit (sleeps 10) shows 1 unit available for most of November except the Thanksgiving week. This location would be "in-network" (native) for your friend's parents and, thus, a relatively uncomplicated booking.

Edited to add unit info:
Four Bedroom Presidential: King in master, king in second bedroom, two double beds in third bedroom, two double beds in fourth bedroom, queen sleeper sofa in living area. Washer/dryer in unit. Located on various floors. Maximum occupancy 10.

This sounds like a great question for the TUG bbs. tug2.net It's all about timeshares.
