Can we walk .......

We're staying at the BWI in August and though I've never been, I can't wait! I was wondering if we are able to walk to Epcot, MGM or the Beach Club and how far it is.

Yes, you can walk!!!

Epcot is a nice stroll, and the BC is right across the lake. MGM is a longer walk than Epcot, and like Epcot you can take a boat.

you sure can! i am not sure how far in distance,but it is about a 20 minutes stroll to mgm and about 5, 10 minutes tops to epcot through the international gate. keep in mind entering through the international gate before world showcase opens means you will go straight to future world. no strolling around an empty world showcase! the beach club is a short walk, about 5 minutes to the other side of the lake.

If we take a boat to Epcot, do we enter the park through Future World? I'd hate to tire out the kids before we start walking over to Epcot, then through the entire closed World Showcase.

Yes, by boat you will enter into World Showcase thru the International Gateway and then have to hoof it over to Future World. That is the only draw back to staying in the Epcot resorts. But, it's not that bad a walk. Leave plenty of time and you can just stroll over.

If you take the boat, you still enter through World Showcase.

The World Showcase entrance is between France and the UK.

To get to Future World, you're only walking through the UK and Canada sections, so it's not so bad.

(Yikes! The thought of walking through the the whole World Showcase makes my feet tired!)

That's the beauty of the Epcot Resort area. We love to walk versus taking the Friendship. It's a nice way to take in all the beauty!

I absoultly loved the walks to Epcot! We usually took a boat there in the am and walked home...the path is so pretty at night all lit up and the quiet river...no waiting in line for the boat either.
