Can we visit other resorts and use their QS?

Was wondering if we can resort hop and visit a QS. I thought I had read in the past some resorts only let you in if you show you have an ADR at that resort, so I’m wondering if it’s okay to visit if we do not have an ADR and want to use QS. We’re staying in a Fort Wilderness Cabin with a rental car, and plan to utilize their QS but I thought checking out other types of cuisine may be nice

I think the issue you read was with parking. Some people reported needing to have an ADR to get in to some of the resort parking lots. You can take a Disney bus and hop all day long.

Yes, but as DM mentioned, parking can be an issue depending on time of year. Especially at the MK and Epcot resorts.

Okay good to know. Maybe if we decide to do that we will utilize the boat service and visit WL or CR QS just in case we can’t park our car. We are going in early December.

We've done QS at Pop, AOA, or POR when not staying there. Those you shouldn't have an issue with parking, but I agree it can be tough at a deluxe without a reservation.

We have never had a problem. We even visit resorts just to look around in case we might stay there in the future.

You should have no problem eating at any TS or QS restaurant at a resort (you just often need an ADR for TS).
As mentioned, you may have problems with parking. when we resort hop, we will do the monorail loop of resorts or those around EPCOT. We also will take a bus (or boat from MK) from a park to a different resort if there is one we want to see.

December is a wonderful time to resort hop. I would take a bus to the Magic Kingdom, and then use the monorail anda boat to visit the resorts. The decorations are lovely. Once you are hopping, decide which CS you want to have you rlunch or dinner at and enjoy!

We LOVE Christmas time decor I don’t think I can go any other time of year lol! We’ve stayed at WL in December, visited AKL twice to eat at Boma in December...but never seen poly so I’m thinking QS there!

Do It!! We love to do that. Of course your credits are good. If it's anywhere near MK or Boardwalk, use Disney transportation, and if it's anywhere else, feel free to drive and tell at gate. Mods and values have never had problem driving there and I would assume places like SSR , OKW and even AKL should be fine. Personally we've driven in to WL with no adr reservation no prob too.

We do this all the time. Resort hope for breakfast/lunch and or dinner. We mostly use Disney Transportation. If we go for dinner, we will most likely have an ADR for TS so if we have our car and drive, not worried about parking. We have also taken Uber/taxi.

As the PPs explained, you don't need an ADR and you'll be fine to resort hop and eat in their QS restaurants. We stayed at CR but took the monorail to GF and ate at Gasparilla Island Grill once, we were very pleasantly surprised! The food there was good (I'd recommend the mahi mahi ruben) and they had some hearty snack options that we hadn't seen anywhere else, i.e. a prepackaged cup of chicken salad with cranberries and pecans. Wherever you end up going, have fun!!!

As far as parking, just tell the attendant what you are doing. They will probably let you park. Worst case scenario they will advise you the best nearby location to park where you can use Disney transportation.

We wanted to eat at the quick service at the Polynesian, get a Dole Whip and do some shopping back in February. They would not let me in to park at the resort b/c we didnt have a reservation at a sit down restaurant. So, if you want to visit other resorts, Id plan to use Disney transportation.

I will also add that in the past we were able to park at different resorts to shop and eat QS...but not lately....even in May we had a reservation for 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian and they checked my ID and asked me all kinds of questions about how long we planned to stay.....

Oh geez seems like it may depend on the gate attendants.

It seems like in the last year, they have really cracked down on people parking at resorts where they are not staying or have ADRs.
I know at the EPCOT and MK resorts they said they did it to stop people from parking there instead of in the park parking lot.
