Can we trade in hoppers on annual passes at Disney store?

We have some 5-day hopper passes we bought in June with 2-4 days remaining. We now find we will be returning to WDW in March for 8 days, so we want to trade in our hoppers for AP's. We've done this before, so we know they will give us credit for the amount we paid for the hoppers and will start the AP's in June (day of first use of hopper).

My question is, can we do this at our local Disney store, or do we have to go to Guest Relations at one of the theme parks? We've always been in Orlando when we've made this decision before!

You will need to do this at Guest Relations at the parks.

Stores can not must go to the parks for any changes on tickets.

Your APs will not be back-dated to June. In order to get full credit for the total price your originally paid for the hopper, you must trade it for an AP/PAP within 7 days of the first use of the hopper. BTW, if you used any plus options from a PHP pass, you would only be able to upgrade to a PAP in this scenario.

Since you have already used some of the hopper days and it is more than 7 days from your first use, you can only get a credit to be used towards the purchse of a new AP/PAP. Your credit will be approximately equal to the number of unused major park days divided by the total number of days on the pass. Only one hopper pass can be used as a credit towards the same AP and your AP year will start on the day you buy the pass. As the others have posted, you can only do the upgrade on site at WDW - TDS cannot do this for you.

Also, if you have unused plus options on the hopper pass, you will not receive any credit for them. You essentially just lose them.
