Can we squeeze Disneyland in?? my May 2014 PTR/TR

Disneyland!!!
Yes!
I managed to squeeze it in!
.... We're going to the original, real Disneyland!
We are staying at Grand Californian - so excited!
....anyway....
Arriving LAX Friday morning
Still deciding whether to use Disney Resort Express or shuttle
There's not much difference gong to Disneyland, but when we leave, the last bus is at 6pm
Our flight out is 11.30pm - so wouldn't normally leave until 7 - 7.30
Spending Fri at DCA
Have dinner reservation at Carthay Circle (WOC package)
Tonight is a Grad night - hoping it's not too crowded or rowdy
Sat
Early entry to Disneyland
Have lunch reservation at Blue Bayou
dinner Reservation at Big Thunder Ranch
Want to see Fantasmic
Sun
Early entry to DCA
Do the necessaries (cars ride) then over to Disneyland for Minnie & Friends breakfast at Plaza Inn
2pm Walkin in Walt's Footsteps tour (FYI - my birthday is on the same day as Walt's)
Leave to go to LAX for some sleep on the way home

Sounds like heaps of fun at DLR.

Just remember to factor in some time buffer in case the freeways to the airport are jammed up.

So ... The big bus leaving at 6?
Or shuttle at 7??
Flight at 11.30 - would like to be at LAX around 8.30

It really depends on traffic. They don't call it the 4-0(r)-5 (hours) freeway for nothing.

If you ask most locals, they will recommend allowing at least 2 hours to get to the airport. If you're there early, at least you got there!

Wow you're packing heaps into your weekend!

I'm considering doing the WOC dining at Carthay, so I'll be interested to hear what you think of it. Also thinking of doing the Walt in Walt's Footsteps tour on the Saturday before my birthday as a way of avoiding the crowds, so I can't wait to hear what you think of that!

For Blue Bayou, we did an 11:30am lunch reservation last time and were led straight to a waterside table :goodvibes Definitely worth it for the atmosphere.

We also loved Minnie's, the characters just kept coming out and we ended up being there for about 2 hours!

So jealous that you get to stay at GC.

As far as shuttles go, I would just choose the most convenient one. We used Supershuttle and were quite happy with it. I plan to use them again for our next trip.

Sounds like a great weekend. Your ADRs sound great. I'm also keen to hear about the Carthay Circle WOC package. I'm thinking of booking it for lunch.

Sorry to hijack your post Fairy Floss, but while we're discussing shuttles, what do people think the traffic will be like around 5 in the morning? We have to be at the airport by 6:30am for an 8:40 flight.

Looking good Fairy Floss! I have no idea about early am shuttles from Anaheim sorry but from Hollywood area around that time it was dead quiet and we zipped there very fast, we could have left later.

No worries - the more the merrier!

You'll be fine at that hour.

We had a 11 am flight out of LAX and my friend recommended we leave at 6 am. At that hour of the morning and with no accidents on the freeways, we made it to LAX, dropped off the car and were at the check-in area by 7.15 am. If you're taking a shuttle, you'll be dropped off right at the terminal and you'll be fine.

Yay, good to know. Thanks PIO and Aussie Wendy.
