Can we? Should we? A Spring 2009 PTR - New 5/6 - The TR has begun!

oooh, yes! Di-Vine.... I have yet to see her. Definitely will be on my list, too!

The stroller question is tough.

If you buy two rather light, dare I say "throw-away" umbrella strollers, would they be easier to manage in the bus/tram/rental car and still cost less than $200?? :confused3

(Sometimes I long for the old stroller days myself!)

Oops - I'm a little behind! Love the countdown calendar and we have the Guide to the Magic book. :thumbsup2 The boys love it.

I have the same dilemma about the stroller. We've decided to see how things go. I can see needing one at Epcot (heck - I need one at Epcot!!). We're going to try and get by without one for most of the time. We'll see what happens.

Seeing DiVine during our first trip was awesome! I hope you find her.

We'll see... it's really going to depend on how well they can fit in the single stroller. I need to look at some more pictures. :surfweb:

I'll see if I see any older kids in the strollers and try and catch a pic for you...I'll just edit out their face and pm you that may halep vs seeing what it looks like empty OR maybe they'll let me just take a pic of Mae in one...JAT

Here are our goals for Animal Kingdom:

• Safari
• Expedition Everest
• Dinosaur
• Kali River Rapids (depending on weather)
• Festival of the Lion King
• Walking trail(s) - Zachary loved this last year
• Tree of Life Garden
• Character Meet & Greet trails - we'll see how busy it is...
• Find DiVine – pathways between Africa & Asia
• Photopass opportunities
• Primeval Whirl (Amy & Alex - a first for us)
• Arcades? (Depending on Alex's mood - we might never get him out of there!)

Ill come back w/ some more detials later if I can...but I think you have some nice choices there....though just IMHO I'd skip PW...I know Alex likes costers and all but we've ridden a coaster at Great America similar to this and man it is :faint: crazy....whip around stuff.

anyways do you not have a RC near you guys? I don't know they do by us and I think the food is OK you really pay for the environment...it's ok...but don't know if it's worth the extra cost and stuff. sorry to be a damper.

Your AK goals sound good!!! Love that Tusker House breakfast! I can't wait to eat there again in June! Yummy!

Too cute about Alex telling BIL's GF that he would ride with her. I don't really care for roller coasters, but I love EE!

I also didn't get a chance to comment on your countdown calendars -- I studied them very intently and plan to copy them for the most part :thumbsup2 -- and the Guide to the Magic for Kids -- we got one for Chelsea and Connor last year and they had such a good time filling it out!

I can't wait for Tusker House - all of our character meals really - we are doing 3 and they are all new ones for us. We've only been to CP once and H&V once. This time we are dong GG, Chef Mickey's & Tusker House. I've never actually called for my ADRs on the correct day before so I'm really pleased with how they all turned out. :thumbsup2

Have fun making the countdown calendars!! The kids have been so-so about their books. :confused3 I love the books and I'll use them to get more excited as we get closer. I'm trying to keep it low key for now.

The AK list looks great! I love Animal Kingdom!

A pre-trip trip to the Rainforest Cafe sounds like a great idea. The boys would love that! There is one in Niagara Falls...only about 1 1/2 hours from here and we've never been. Maybe I'll have to think about doing that...I bet my boys would enjoy it!

We did the Donald's Breakfast when it was in Dinoland and really enjoyed it. Do you know if it has changed much? Just curious!

I only know a little bit about the Tusker House breakfast and I don't know anything about the Dinoland breakfast... sorry.

I'm going to figure out when we can go to RFC soon... hopefully in the next couple of weekends.

Your list for AK looks great! I have never done the Tusker House Breakfast, it seems very popular! I hope to spy DeVine too! :upsidedow

Di-Vine seems hard to find... but I'm going to try!

Great AK plans, you make me want to go to WDW now!! I want to get that guide book for kids, thanks for showing it to us!

The book is very cool! And I want to be at WDW now too. :goodvibes

I don't think the kids would ride in an umbrella stroller??? But maybe... I know they have some of those at the parks - if either of the boys would even fit?? We'll see...

I'm clinging to the idea of a stroller and having a hard time letting go. But most people do say that 5 is still young for walking all day... I'm hoping scrappie can help me out with my research:rolleyes1

I suspect "seeing how it goes" is what will end up happening for us. Let me know how it works out for you guys!

You've seen DiVine?? How cool!!! Where did you see her?

Any tips on finding DiVine? We didn't see her last trip. :sad2:

All I know is to look between Africa & Asia. Carissa might know better...

Thanks!! Scope it out for me! Any research you can help with would be fantastic!!

Really... I'll have to think about it again? I know DH won't go anywhere near it!

RFC is about an hour away -I'm not really up for adding an 8th (non DDP) TS meal to our itinerary. Especially on a day we are planning to visit two parks. We could take a nice mid-day break without it... I'm thinking we could take a roadtrip before our trip down to Mass. for lunch and take it off our list.

Plus, I just found out that DH's uncle, aunt and maybe grandmother may be coming over from the east coast to visit us sometime during the days DBIL is with us. That would probably mean a restaurant at DTD. I'm hoping to get more details soon so we can maybe make an ADR at T-Rex. That means ANOTHER TS meal... I just have to convince DH that we don't need to do RFC.

We found her on the path between Africa and Asia - but she was closer to Africa at the time. I know when we got to AK I checked the board to see what times she was suppose to be out. I know she was late coming out and I asked a CM to be sure. I was bound and determined to find her!! And it paid off. Such a cool experience. :goodvibes

Here's some pictures for you:

Great pictures!! Thanks for posting them! I didn't realize her time would be posted - I figured it was just sort of a surprise if you got to see her. Great tip!! :thumbsup2

Hopefully we'll catch her on one of the three days we are at AK!

You can also check out Steve Soares site. He'll list her times on there (or so I've been told).

Oh, I am looking forward to hearing about Garden Grill -- we have never eaten there! Are you doing Chef Mickey's for breakfast or dinner -- I can't remember...

We are going to make our countdown calendar during spring break (which is still two and a half weeks away for us). I got the posterboard but still need to get Mickey heads and stickers.

I don't think mine really even looked at the Guide to the Magic until we were down there and then at night in the hotel room they would fill it out and put all the stickers in -- it was a nice way to unwind after a long day.

Hi! Our Guide to the Magic just arrived in the mail today! I was excited to get it.
I can't say much more about the stroller other than I know we needed it when we went in November. We took our double side by side (see my PTR for a photo, the same one we used when DS's were 5 mos and 3yrs old!) It was great even with a 6yr old and a 3 yr old this past fall. Little legs can't go as fast as big legs, and I was worried about confusion in crowds, too, when you can't see above the knee caps of others... maybe two simple umbrellas is a good option? I am still not sure what to do about this June myself... worried DS7 will get really beat walking around in the heat etc. if I bring a single stroller for DS4, but I keep saying isn't he kinda old for a stroller?... but then I say if I want it and it isn't there what am I going to do... so I get your dilemma. :confused3

Boy that Steve Soares site is great - I have it on my list of things to do right before we leave. :thumbsup2

Chef Mickey's is for dinner. I can't wait!! Alex is really into MM & the gang.

I'm sure the boys will get into their Guide to the Magic books when we get closer - we'll definitely be bringing them with us on the trip, just probably not to the parks.

Can't wait to see your countdown calendars soon!

The stroller thing is a big dilemma! But I've been doing a lot of reading here on the DIS and think I have a plan! I'll post more on that later when I know for sure. I'm also waiting to see some photos from mousescrapper during her trip next week. And maybe Carissa will have some for me too. :rolleyes1 And I'll be sure to take lots of stroller pictures while we are there to help any other DISers trying to make the same decision.

Here are some from our 2007 trip:

That's cousin "K" sitting with Zachary. Luckily she is looking down because I probably shouldn't post her picture. The humidity did a number on my hair... it's all curled up... yuck!

DH & I are off for an overnight getaway tomorrow night. :goodvibes So I probably won't get to those 2006 photos until next week.

OH! What a great idea, I am reading Mousescrapper's PTR too, popcorn:: and have seen Carissa's posts, so I will wait to see... I realize that you are all going before me, so that will help... I am really undecided about which to bring...:confused3

Looking forward to your new posts! :surfweb:
