Can we have overnight guests at BCV?

Hi everyone
In a week we are arriving at BCV for a 12 night stay in a 2 bed lock off. There are four adults and two children.
My friend and her son will be staying elsewhere on Disney property for a few nights at the same time and we hope to spend some time together. As we only have 6 people in our two bed villa, would I be permitted to have them stay with us for a night or two? Do I need to inform MS or front desk? Will it cause conflict on the system because they are already registered at another resort?
Thanks for any replies.
Mandy :-)

The easiest thing to do is to just add them to your reservation since you have occupancy available. That would also give them access to SAB pool if that is desired. It shouldn't matter that they are registered elsewhere since they are your guests.

The only wrinkle to this is if you are doing the dining plan. Then it won't work for you.

I've done it several times. I just go to the front desk and have a room key printed for them when they are added. I do this for my local friends, as they like the opportunity to try out different pools, gyms and view TOWL fireworks. They are also DVC members, but just always stay at VB, OKW or Aulani. They hardly ever stay overnight, but it does not cause a problem with "the system."

There are recent reports that the front desk cannot add anyone to your reservation after you check in. So you need to add them in advance. As noted, that will be a problem if you've purchased the dining plan.

Also, there are reports that, if the same person is listed on two reservations at the same time, their magic band won't work for both rooms. So, you're best bet is to add them to your reservation, but not link them to their own profile or use a fake name. That way, you'll get a magic band for them which they can use for the room and pool, but nothing else.

Read somewhere on these posts that you must add guests prior to arrival. Read that until recently, you could add guests at checkin and supposedly that policy has changed and must be done beforehand.:goodvibes

If you add them you will have to pay for there dining plan for all 12 nights even if they have another dining plan. You really need to use different names. This can also cause a glitch in the system if the name appears to be close to someone on your MDE account. I had two rooms, one concierge and one not. I added those not in concierge with different names (used middle name) and the system figured it out. The person in concierge said I was smart to use a different name but the name needed to be more different. He was able to fix things so the others would have access to out room. I doubt all cast members would know what to do as he did.

Last month my mother was registered as a guest in our room at AKV Jambo and also had her own room reservation at AKL. We had no issues. This happened for us because i had originally made our reservation with her in our room and then she received a discount code and decided she wanted the privacy of her own room so she reserved that. The exact same name was used on both reservations. I didn't bother to remove her from our room but I never linked her tickets. I received a magic band for her which I gave to her so she could access our room. She had another magic band for her room and that had her tickets linked. Everything worked just fine. We did not do the dining plan on either room.

As noted, it can no longer be done this way. What you can do is get an extra KTTW card off one of the guests that are register and have them add them into the comments field.

That is both my understanding and my recent experience.

The name can be on more than one reservation and can even be the lead on more than one, they just don't want to. The system will not crash for such situations. However, the magic band won't work for more than one at a time. It's easy to have someone listed more than once, just more of an issue if they're lead on more than one but I was lead on 3 back in May, after the rules changed. From what I can tell it's simply that they want to stick to the rule which is somewhat arbitrary, rather than a major issue with the system itself. As you note, there are other ways to work around it even to have multiple bands that will work for each villa as well.

Thanks everyone. No dining plan so that should make things simpler.
Is it 8 or 9 guests max in a 2 bed at BCV?

Thank you :car::yay:

8 people. We've had visitors before. We never tried to add them to our reservation though. We didn't need to.

Have fun... we LOVE BCV!!!!!

You should be able to reserve for 9 total but not 9 plus an infant.

At BCV you HAVE to add if they plan to swim in SAB. We had nine people over 3 years old at BCV legally, you have to provide the bedding. We had no issues as DD slept with her two young ones in the King bed.

We have put our local cousins on our December reservation so they can park and swim with us if they want. I will mail them the MB when they come.
