Can we fill the mini-bar with our own stuff?

I was wondering if we could request that the mini bar be emptied and then fill it with our own stuff we buy at the grocery store? If so what grocery stores are convenient on our way from the airport to the Hard Rock Hotel?

as far as i know, you shdn't have a problem... we always have them remove everything from the bar when we arrive except one soda, this way its there if we are desperate, but we have lots of space for other stuff!! lol..never had a problem!

why do they charge you $30.oo just to empty the contents from the frige? That seems crazy. If we want to put our own stuff in, what are we suppose to do with the hotel's stuff?

My dh was so mad at that ridiculous charge- He wanted to get a box, empty the minibar and take it done to the front office and say "I think you owe me 30.00 for emptying this" We decided to rent a fridge because it would be easier. Our minibar was busted anyway.

if you remove the items you will be charged for them. I bleieve they do offer refrigerators upon request at no chrage (according form what I read in the room)but they go fast from what I understand.
Instead of worrying about getting one or renting one at hotels we purchased an electric cooler at wal mart last year for our WDW trip. We have had no problem using it at hotels at at HRH they even plugged it in for us when we checked in earlly and headed to the parks.
