Can we do this?

I tried to reserve the Dolphin Encounter excursion in Nassau through DCL, but they were already booked (at 4pm of the 1st day we could make reservations!). I am going to try to get a reservation directly with Dolphin Encounters. If I can get this reservation, can I book the Blue Lagoon Island excursion with DCL? This way I don't have to worry about transportation, lunch, using the beach etc and then just walk over to the Dolphin Encounter at the time of our reservation.

The cost works out the same as if I had booked the Dolphin Encounter directly with DCL.

This is a Mom and DD excursion and I'm a little nervous about dealing with the transportation to the pier myself, so I thought this might be a good way to deal with that.

Yes, you can do this, but it really isn't all that hard to get to the pier where the dolphin ecounter leaves from on Paradise Island. Just take a cab from the pier in Nassau and they will take you directly to the pier where their boats leave from. I'd also do this, since the food that's included in the DCL excursion is horrific and I wish we had brought enough cash so we could have bought something different. I'd do it this way, it really won't be all that difficult.

I booked the dolphin encounter directly with them, and the cab ride was $4 each to the pier.

On the way back, it was the last trip of the day and they announced that all cruise ship passengers remain on the boat.

Sure enough, we made it back to the ship (with all those who paid for the excursion).

and DONT FORGET to grab a towel from the pool to bring with you!

Heck, if you are booking the excursion yourself, you could do the Dolphin Swim rather than just the "encounter"

My family decided to do the Blue Lagoon Beach day and than my dd and I will walk over to the Dolphin Encounter. We booked directly to save money but have to wait until 4pm to do it. I'm not worried about the transportation as much as I am about getting back for the show and dinner that night at Palos. We want to catch the 6:30 show and put the girls in the club and go to Palo's. Hopefully it will work out for us. Good luck to you!
