Can we do this for our Servicemen/women?

I was reading a post on another board and someone had sent phone cards to soldiers that are deployed.
I thought it was a wonderful idea and was wondering if anyone was interested in helping out this way?

I dont know who we would contact or whatever... just thinking this might help some soldiers who were getting homesick...

Binny.. depending on where they are.. they have "free" phones anyway...

My dad stated that when he was in Afghanistan there were free phones to call from . Unfortunately there was a time limit, and you had a specified time to call... but it was free.

If anyone knows how to do it- it's a great idea. My husband was in the Navy for 6 years and calls homes were very expensive. We were young and there were many months that the phone bill was more than the rent. I have been trying to find a way to get a name to send care packages to etc.

I dont know, just saying what I read.

My friend said that her DS was there and that another friend had sent 18 phone cards for him to pass out to others and they all said how grateful they were for them.

I have no idea who we would send them to. I will keep looking though

Im sure if the Military isnt picking up the tab then they would be very expensive!
