Can we do "take out" from the park CS restaurants?

So, if I want to pick up a sandwich, salad, dessert, and drink from Norway and then go to America where my son can get a burger, will Norway be able to put my food in containers of some sort so they are easy to transport?

Same question at AK...If I want to grab ribs/BBQ at Flame Tree and then take my son to Pizzafari, does Flame Tree have any containers that would make it easier for me to transport my meal? I don't have the coordination to carry a tray of food across the park! And that would just be weird!!!

Thanks everyone!

Curious about this one, too :)
I've seen recommendations to grab food at a CS to take to Fantasmic or watch a parade or fireworks...

I did take out from Flame Tree to my resort in Feb. They handed me tin foil and I covered the plates & bowls with it. I am planning to do this again and will bring a small soft sided cooler with me. The food was fine but leaked a little in the plastic bag I had it in. A soft sided cooler would help it stay more upright then a plastic bag.

Norway is really good about helping pack up your food. We picked up sandwiches on our last day and took them on the plane.

we've done similar and never had a problem... some food courts (resorts for sure) have plastic lids for their plates...

This has been brought up before.

Basically the CS places at the parks don't have real take containers and things like cup holders or bags.

It seems like they help as much as they can.

I'm thinking about most restaurants not wanting people to carry in food from other restaurants to theirs, but since it's all Disney I'm wondering if she gets a carry out at FlameTree, then goes to Pizzafari for child, is Pizzafari going to mind her eating her Flametree meal at one of their tables with child eating Pizzafari food or vice versa :confused3

What does everyone think? Cause if this is not frowned upon it would make CS meals a lot easier for our group since we have a picky eater that has to have either a burger, nuggets or pizzas at the CS's.

I've done this before at Pecos in the MK. They had plastic to-go containers. :thumbsup2

Anybody have an opinion or done this & what happened? Thanks

From my personal experience, the first one is easy. And I've done it in a way. We've taken food from Norway back to Canada to enjoy eating while watching Off Kilter. So not a problem there to get it "to go". We did have a bit of a difficulty with the Cast Member understanding "to go" but it worked out. Maybe saying "I want to be able to walk with this food" would work better.

On another time, my son picked up nachos from Mexico, I got egg rolls from China, and then my husband got a cheeseburger in America where we all ate. I would recommend eating outside at the Liberty Inn because there's plenty of empty tables no matter when you go. Inside with the air conditioning, people might not like you bringing in "foreign" food.

I'd also recommend you do the opposite of what you are asking at Animal Kingdom. Pizzafari is indoors, Flame Tree outdoors. We've sat at Flame Tree many times with our "foreign" egg rolls and pretzels and no one cared. However, I wouldn't feel right doing the same thing at Pizzafari.

Most CS places are really good about meeting your needs for transporting the food! We always use snack credits at the French bakery and bring pastry back to the room for breakfast the next morning!

It's been easy with bakery items (lefse from Norway to eat for dessert later, croissants from France to eat for breakfast the next day) and they have packaged them up in bakery paper and put them in a paper bag.

But we also ordered a meal from Liberty Inn for our oldest when he was little - he slept through dinner at Norway, and we needed something for him when he woke up. So Liberty Inn packaged a kids' meal for us in a typical "to go" container - but that was quite some time ago.

I promise to eat at off peak times. What's the difference if I'm sitting at Pizzafari eating a Flametree BBQ sandwich versus eating a Pizza? I will have bought my son a pizza, so I'm not stealing anyone's table.

We tend to eat lunch when the CS restaurants open (10;30, 11:00 am ish), so I don't think I'll be in anyone's way.

I would recommend you do it the other way around. The eating area at Flame Tree is the best at AK.

In '07, my daughter got a pizza from Pizzafari and took it into Mama Melrose's without a problem. In fact, the waitress acted as if this had happened numerous times before.

I would just advise the CM when you arrive at the second place of what's going on as a courtesy.

I just looked at pics from Dec 09 trip. We had one of DS sleeping holding clear plastic boxes with our pastries from norway. We took these back to the resort for breakfast the next day.
