I thought we could check it in to be brought on with our luggage (case of beer)
Do we need to hide it in our carry-ons?

Nope, you don't need to hide it, DCL allows you to bring on alcohol. :)

another reason to put it in your carry on is you don't know how much stuff is going to be stacked on top of your luggage, and it sure would be a shame if your booze broke in your suitcase and you had a mess to deal with...

Wine I would stick in luggage, mixed in for protection but I can't imagine sacrificing one of my larger pieces of luggage for beer (they're usually 30 packs) so how can I check it in. Dave suggested getting a luggage cart and wheeling it in but I don't want to pull it behind me everywhere I go either.

All you beer lovers, how did you carry it on?

We always bring a spare rolling dufflebag to the port with us. It comes in handy on the trip home for holding souveniers. And cases of soda (pop) and beer fit very nicely.

We carried Coronas and 2 bottles of wine onboard with us in a soft-sided cooler we bought at Sams. We boarded around 12noon, made Palo ressies, ate at the buffet, and then our room was ready by 1pm, so we didn't have to keep up with it for too long. We left it open every morning and our cabin steward kept it full of ice for us...when we came back to the cabin late that afternoon to get ready for dinner...we ordered the cheese and cracker tray from room service and had beer/wine while getting ready for dinner!!! Definitely get the cheese tray...we ordered one almost everyday.
